So I purchased the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Mouse and have started using it on my 11" iPad Pro. It was just my first day so I don't know if I liked it or not. But the experience was kind of OK ? I feel it makes the Multi-Tasking action s little slow. I have added the APP Switcher option to my Assistive Touch Menu but I still feel using finger is tad quick ! Do you guys also feel the same thing ? that using hand/fingure is a faster experience than Mouse ?

Also what others ways the Mouse can be a restriction where only using your fingers would do the job ? Can you guys think of any such tasks ? Or activity ?

Same mouse here on a 12.9 Pro. I use the mouse primarily when my essential tremors get going or if I'm using an external Bluetooth keyboard. With the keyboard, I find using the mouse to be quicker and more natural than reaching up and touching the screen. No tremors or keyboard - then I don't find the mouse to be quicker or better than finger touch.

Tremors get going ?

Sorry but is that a illness that you have ?

It's a neurological disorder/progressive disease than can cause involuntary shaking of any part of the body. It's most common in the hands, where I have it. It's bad enough that I can no longer write very legibly by hand (that Apple Pencil I have is now just a nice pointer/poker). The symptoms can look something like Parkinson's Disease.

Sorry to hear that Mate !

Thanks. But as can be seen, a mouse is a useful peripheral for me with an iPad and I'm one of those users targeted by Apple with AssistiveTouch features. Thank you, Apple - but why did you make it a pain to use with the awkward setup, unchangeable pointer, and inverted scrolling?

Just one more question, I think overlooked this statement or perhaps did not read it poeoperly yesterday, so you are saying if using a full Desktop like set up for e.g. like with an External Keyboard and an External Mouse than the productivity with using Mouse is quicker versus using it only by touch and by only fingers ?

If you are using your iPad in "Desktop mode" and you are doing "Desktop work" e.g. writing mails, Excel, Word, ... then absolutely yes it's quicker and more convenient with a mouse.

I mean with Desktop mode, I mean using an external Bluetooth Keyboard and and External Mouse that way.

Yes that's what I meant too. If you are using the iPad the way you would use a notebook, then a mouse is really useful. You're sacrificing easy mobility but you're doing that anyway if you're using an external keyboard so that shouldn't be an issue.

I have to admit I rarely use a mouse but when I'm working with Excel, it is much more convenient than using my fingers.

What are you guys doing about the issue about not being able to select text from the screen if you have to copy some text using mouse ? I find touching to the screen again and again if I have to select some text on the screen ! what work around have you found about this ?

Text select does work with a mouse. I double-click on a single word to select it and then use the mouse to move the selection delimiter at the beginning or end of the word to select more.

Are you sure it does work ? Although I don't remmeber double clicking on one word, so I have not tried this method, all I remember is dragging to select as you would do on a computer and that did not work ! But I will have to double check this again.

Yes, I just did it to doublecheck.

Remember, the mouse pointer is pretty much just a virtual fingertip.

Text selection is performed similar to how you would do it with your fingers: either double tap/click when in text editing mode or long press when not.

Thanks Guys ! This thing worked. Tell me how are you guys doing the zoom out thing in photos with the Mouse ? Does it work?

Left button double-click works fine as zoom in and out with Photos and Photo Manager Pro app that I use for photo storage/viewing.

But the current Photos app can zoom in via the pinch gesture - not just between icon view and full image view. It can also increase the size of the icons if you pinch in slowly in regular icon view. I don’t think you can imitate this with the double click approach.
