Mouse lag/not smooth on M1 Air. Any suggestions?

I stopped using my Logitech bluetooth mouse all together a while ago due to random move and scrolll stutters.

I decided to try it again today and it seems a lot more smoother. I guess some of the recent updates have fixed some of the issues.

Now I really love the feel of the bluetooth mouse (I've been relying on built-in trackpad) and I shall start using it daily.

Im using M1 Air and I don't really like using usb c hub.

Previously, my brand new M1 Air's logic board got fried after charging through USB C hub. I believe one of the updates solved that issue but I'm still iffy about using hub.

Logitech should make a USB-C adapter. It's a bit obscene spending $15 for a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

I do run off two port hubs on my mini but via USB-A. One goes to an Anker 7-port and the other goes to the hub in my Dell monitor with 5 ports. I am going to need to figure out what to do with my M1X MacBook Pro as I'm not expecting a USB-A port. I really do not like Bluetooth mice in general. I prefer Logitech Unifying or wired.

Never mind. I thought the stutter and lag has disappeared but after few days, it came back.

I would end up buying Magic Mouse as that seems to be only bluetooth mouse without much lag.

I wish Apple would release more ergonomic friendly mouses.

That kind of implies RF interference. I have a USB extension cable of about three feet and I'd try that next. If that didn't work, then I'd just go with a wired mouse. Unfortunately I don't think that I've ever seen a USB-C mouse.

So what si current situation on Monterey and M1? I plan to buy MX Master 3 and use it on BT.
Someone have it? Do it work without lag?

My personal situation on Monterey with a MX Master 2s is, that the scroll wheel stops scrolling in Safari from time to time. The problem can only be solved by restarting Safari. Otherwise my mouse behaves in the same way it did under Big Sur. There is still micro stuttering when scrolling.

I don't think that's a mouse lag issue. That sounds like a Safari or MacOS bug issue and I'm even getting some weird issues with my screen freezing lately and unable to scroll.

i have the same mouse but unfortunately for me it's a mess to work with.
i have a huge lack of precision, i miss clicks on small buttons or lose miliseconds to go where i want. All of these doesnt happen with a 5$ wired mouse. I tried to find a solution, but nothing has worked yet.

BTW, it is connected via BT, on Monterrey (MBP 16" 2021).

I just tried it with Unyfiing receiver and it's completely different cup of coffee than BT .
It's like wired mouse.

Yes, that makes sense. But I use mouse only at home/work. On the go I work with touchpad.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I recently got a MacBook Air (M1, 2020 Big Sur 11.6.3), and have been experiencing the same problems with my MK270 wireless keyboard and mouse combo using the "nano" receiver. I tried the nano receiver connected to a Adam Elements CASA HUB A01 and an Orico A3H7 hub. Using the MK270 on an old MacBook Pro late 2011 model works perfectly.

I then connected the nano receiver to a USB A to USB C converter and connected it directly to the M1 Air, and everything is now working fine. In my case them, when the receiver is connected to a hub, it causes delays/lag

Yes I have MX Anywhere 3 - no lag on BT - but it's like 30fps in bluetooth vs 60fps in unyfiing reciever...

Do you notice that ?

Someone tried a Magic Mouse 2021 in Monterey and Macbook Air M1 ? I just want to buy it...

I've found that heavy network traffic on a hub (where the network adapter is also on the hug) results in variable mouse performance. Best case for me is a Logitech with unified receiver hooked up to a USB extension cable under the monitor.

I have the mini but also had a lot of issues with BT devices. Finally solved by switching to a keyboard and mouse combo from Logitech with their own receiver. So much better!

I have bought a Magic Mouse today and works very well with bluetooth (better than Logitech MX Anywhere 3 on bluetooth) almost same as Logitech with reciever... BT mouses was unusable in BigSur so big step forward

Check what the refresh rate for your monitor is. Mine defaulted to 30Hz and that is surprisingly distracting. Cursor looks like jumping instead of moving smoothly. Changed refresh rate and all is fine. There are apps which are free and help you do it. I find it easier than through the Preferences where you need to know which key to hold when...

I ran into this with a new monitor as well, 30Hz is surprisingly irritating these days, higher rated USBC adapter was what I needed in my case

Running into this issue with my M1 Max 16" and an LG 4K monitor @60hz. Running through UBS-C into the monitor (no hub, laptop lid closed, scaled display) and have tried multiple different options:

MX Master 3 (with and without Logitech receiver)
Magic Mouse
Magic Trackpad
G305

Latest OS. Turned off "Shake mouse" in accessibility settings. Ensured monitor was running at 60hz. Screwed with pointer speed. Logitech Hub / No Hub. Resetting bluetooth. Different ports for the receiver. All have the same issue. Extremely frustrating. When I use the laptop standalone with the trackpad built in it feels flawless & buttery smooth. Wonder if I'm just used to high refresh rates (used a 144hz monitor with a Windows desktop previously)
