Mac vs Pc

Hi , i just bought a New Mid 2011 Imac. Love it to bids. After installing Windows 7 on boot Camp i noticed that the mouse ran much smoother than the on the Mac,
The biggest difference is when i was playing Starcraft 2 , the game runs 20 fps faster and the mouse is quicker,
So its not the settings it is the operating System.

It's been years since I posted this and it's still an issue for me. I have a brand new Mac Mini running Mojave and a newish PC I built running Windows 10.

This is NOT an acceleration issue. I've read every thread on earth about Steermouse and mouse acceleration pref panes and it's not about the speed or gradient of speed. This is like a choppiness – as if the OS doesn't draw the cursor as many times per second. And I'm not talking about the mouse report rate either.

Take your mouse and move it at a consistent, medium-slow speed from left to right across your screen so it takes about five seconds to cross the screen. No matter how consistent your movement or the tracking surface under your mouse, it's choppy and stuttery.

The problem is 99.999% of Mac users do not also have a PC up and running to do an A-B comparison.

I love Mac and PC both... use Macs for music and PCs for web development and all I can say is there is a marked difference in the way the OS draws the cursor.

It looks like the screen can't draw the mouse cursor image smoothly/quickly enough as the mouse moves. It does feel like a refresh that's too slow.

I never noticed it until I read this thread, and it causes no angst for me personally, but it's definitely a thing...

I agree with the OP in that using the mouse (in my case also the Wacom tablet) feels different. I prefer the Windows way for both devices and every time it's enough of a difference to throw me off initially until I start to adapt. I do however prefer macOS over Windows in every other way I can think of so there's that. ;)
