Huawei are terrible with updates. I have a Mate 10 Pro - stunning phone in every way, but still on Android 8.0; no updates at all! As nice as the new Mate 20 looks on paper, it’s put me off any future phones from them.

This is why I’d never even consider a Huawei phone. I’m sure support is would be non existent.

Lack of updates, fragmentation and bloatware are some of the major drawbacks of Android. The only devices that get timely updates are the Pixels, with newer OnePlus devices and the Essential phone not too far behind, otherwise you're at the mercy of OEMs and carriers. Samsung is the worst culprit of all. Sure, many Android proponents will say "Well, why do you care about updates, what is your phone missing that you want it so much?" I'm one of those people who always wants up to date software, which is a big perk of being on the Apple ecosystem.
I was hoping the Pixel line would finally get rid of the fragmentation. Which IMO is still Androids biggest fault. But open source is Androids biggest appeal to most. Yeah Pixels get timely updates and get them first. But when it comes to apps they still have not tightened the reins. An app that plays nice with a Pixel phone may not with an LG or a a Samsung.

Until it is one hardware device with one OS across all carries we will never see the smooth and trouble free experience we do with iOS.
