Mine will sleep and wake without issue. Now. But I did have a LaCie 2big RAID attached. And when it’s attached the system crashes during sleep, during wake. Multiple bugs somewhere. So my solution was to unplug the drive for now.

Interesting to hear these experiences. I will say - I do have two Highpoint cards in the system right now. Also, after discussing with Apple engineering and ticking "prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" in the energy saver preferences, I have not experienced the same set of crashes, which at least is good. I am currently running a full Tech Tool diagnostic test suite to ensure that there are no hardware issues.

Sorry to hear about these issues. I am still working with an Apple engineer on my issues with the 7,1 crashing while waking from sleep with the Highpoint 7101A card installed. Apple made me think the issue was High Point’s responsibility, and things indeed were better when I removed the card, but it seems these issues are more widespread and related to Catalina, which has been nothing but problems for me.
FWIW, like you I had no end of issues with the Highpoint. I ended up sending it back for refund, then went with the Sonnet. Zero issues since.

Good to know. I went ahead and ordered a couple of sonnet cards too since Im still in the return window for the highpoint ones.
