I've got my MBP C2D for 7 weeks. Battery capacity used to be at 5500+. Since a day or so it is dropping, and the battery won't charge beyond 96%, see picture.

Calibrating didn't help, charging overnight also didn't change anything.
I understand that the capacity of a rechargeable battery drops when used. But it seems to me the battery capacity is going down rather quick, too quick if you ask me. Any ideas on what to do?

I also have 21 charge cycles but mine says 99%.

It could be just the software bugging or something, I found mine said 96% a couple of weeks ago then straightened out back to 99%. I don't think these things are 100% accurate all the time.

My MacBook Pro is also 7weeks old, and it has been up and down for the last while, but I am not too worried.

My original battery is at 132 cycles, and 98% capacity, When there was a recall on these batteries, I did the replacement thing and did not send the original back, Glad I didn't because the new battery is at 22 cycles, and 88% capacity

Woh! that's a real super-charged battery you got there!
Anyway, looks like I'm worrying too much indeed, mine seems to be recovering also. But I'm still wondering how it'll be in a few months time...

That's what happened with mine, but it seems to be recovering to 5404 (coming from 5288) since my last charge. Strange.

I've got 14 load cycles and 7 weeks, and she's already fluctuating. 98, 96, 97%

I'm trying since it's new to do full drain and re-charges on the battery.

Take it with a grain of salt. A lot of it. Frankly, the whole measuring battery capacity is so haphazard and unreliable I just don't pay attention to it.
