In the year 2024, I am still burning playlists to DVDs just so that I can share them and import them onto other Macs. It seems like this method is still the only way to copy and move a playlist while retaining the Star Ratings and Favorite (heart) status.
I've tried the 'Playlist Export' (XML) method where you just copy the source playlist songs to the destination Mac's Music Library, then import the exported Playlist XML file, and yes, all songs are there and in the correct order, but the Star Ratings and Favorite status are gone/reset.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to properly and wholly copy a playlist to another Mac without having to break out the old external Apple DVD Drive? It would be nice to retain the Playlist's header artwork as well, but I can live with manually re-adding that one image in.
This pertains to local Apple Music App playlists/songs, not Apple Music Streaming. I am running the latest macOS on Apple Silicon Macs.
Thanks to any and all who can help!
