Then disappointment. The column browsing filtering issue still has not been fixed. The coding that this entails must be a real doozy!

Same here. Since 14.6.Updated to 14.6.1 (23G93) yesterday and just got another erroneous "Updates Available" system notification.
Disappears when you open settings and search for updates (none) but still annoying.

Has only happened to me since going from 14.6 to 14.6.1. Has there been any resolution? Didn't find any link to another thread.Updated to 14.6.1 (23G93) yesterday and just got another erroneous "Updates Available" system notification.

So, you removed /Library/Updates/Rosetta and you're still seeing spurious "updates available" notifications?I haven't found a solution. User bogdanw seems to give some hints for solutions, which don't work for me..

Even worse. No Rosetta folder inside Library/Updates; Even if I search in Terminal or display hidden folders in Finder. So, you removed /Library/Updates/Rosetta and you're still seeing spurious "updates available" notifications?
Does /Library/Updates have anything in it besides ProductMetadata.plist?Even worse. No Rosetta folder inside Library/Updates; Even if I search in Terminal or display hidden folders in Finder.
$ ls -la /Library/Updates
total 176
drwxr-xr-x@ 3 root wheel 96B Aug 18 11:30 .
drwxr-xr-x 70 root wheel 2.2K Aug 7 21:13 ..
-rw-r--r--@ 1 root wheel 87K Aug 19 16:15 ProductMetadata.plist
Only index.plist + ProductMetadata.plist inside /Library/Updates.Does /Library/Updates have anything in it besides ProductMetadata.plist?
Code:$ ls -la /Library/Updates total 176 drwxr-xr-x@ 3 root wheel 96B Aug 18 11:30 . drwxr-xr-x 70 root wheel 2.2K Aug 7 21:13 .. -rw-r--r--@ 1 root wheel 87K Aug 19 16:15 ProductMetadata.plist
The spurious notifications seem to be harmless, so you might want to just ignore them until Apple pushes out a fix. The problem doesn't have anything to do with the Music app, so if you want to pursue things please make a post in this thread. I haven't seen a notification since removing /Library/Updates/Rosetta, but I don't have anything left in the folder other than ProductMetadata.plist, i.e. no index.plist.Only index.plist + ProductMetadata.plist inside /Library/Updates.
Wild that such an important message automatically dismisses itself...Thought this might be helpful in case anyone gets to this point like me-

Time to go thru and clean up my Library I guess!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There is a possibility though, not from Apple, but I was able to install it on Ventura and magically still works after upgrading to Sonoma. not all features but the one I like for playing my Music, my wayI wish Apple to just give us option to install iTunes at this point. The original release of Music app was frustrating (for both the stability, UI design and feature set), and the speed of improvement since then was so low, there left no hope on me that Music app will someday catch iTunes.

I don’t need convincing I was just quoting the developer of Retroactive.
I haven’t tried Sequoia yet, but I’m sure I’ll be able to install iTunes just as before ;-)

Thanks, I've tried the retroactive in past, either in Mojave or Catalina. Overall it was working as usual. I fuzzily remember there were some annoyances. Maybe library state syncing issues between Music and RA iTunes. Although now, according to the github repository, the project is archived. I'm not sure if there is a viable alternative at this point. I've tried some 3rd party Macos players. Which all lack iTunes Match syncing and requires additional process to sync back and forth with Music. It looks like we all vendor locked in with giant libraries and nowhere else to go. I've even considered Winamp on VM at some point to cut the ties completelyThere is a possibility though, not from Apple, but I was able to install it on Ventura and magically still works after upgrading to Sonoma. not all features but the one I like for playing my Music, my way
I've experienced a few of these issues too, and they're all annoying. The worst part is that there are even more issues I've experienced too, mostly related to syncing iPods, which was basically perfect on iTunes under Mojave and below.I wish Apple to just give us option to install iTunes at this point. The original release of Music app was frustrating (for both the stability, UI design and feature set), and the speed of improvement since then was so low, there left no hope on me that Music app will someday catch iTunes.
Bugs:
- Mac Music app breaks an album’s tracks into two or more albums while downloads them after buying from Mac iTunes store like they are preparing to a meiosis. Albums get the same name and album artist but different tracks. Sometimes deleting tracks, waiting couple days, resurrecting them from hidden purchases and downloading again solves the issue. Funny thing is that, like in real meiosis, after a while Music app comes with duplicating entries for the same song, one has a number as suffix in its filename and/or cloud status is failed.
- Mac Music app downloads only the some of the songs from a fully released, preordered album. iTunes show the rest of the songs with “PURCHASED” button, doesn’t let me download them. there is no item in the hidden purchases or waiting downloads. The album fully released like 1 month ago.
- Mac iTunes store doesn’t show the correct button on bought songs on artist page and album page. While re-buying a song already purchased from album page results with iTunes asks to re-download; re-buying a song from a bought album on the artist page results with second transaction.
- Even though I don’t have an active subscription, right click “Go to artist” button on a song that is in my library sends me to Apple Music page of the artist.
- Whenever I buy a song from iOS iTunes, iOS Music app immediately deletes it from the library after downloads it. This doesn’t happen in Mac Music app.
- UI is generally slower than iTunes. Transition from Albums to Album view takes 1-2 second.
- Album view and tracks view reload album covers for a duration user can notice each time a track rating updated. Reload is observed as flash. The duration of problem might be related with the library size. In this case this is a software design issue that misses on scaling the system, since the number of visible items are capped with the screen resolution and not with the library size.
Unjustified UI design choices:
- Placements of the search bar and Library/Store selector being at opposite ends of the window is leading to unnecessarily long and fast mouse travel. Which I use too frequently as I use iTunes store and local library.
- Sticky playlist headers are unnecessarily big that you find yourself considering buying a 27” monitor to use a music player. Their stickiness provides no obvious benefit.
- Previous iteration of generated playlist images based on 4 topmost songs against current abstract graphic based ones were slightly better in terms of providing faster-to-process visual cues to recognize a playlist placed amongst others.
Most of the issues here exist for years.
By the way is there a replacement people here use, on par iTunes? Cloud library, ratings, smart playlists, m4a, performant-scalable UI etc.
Sorry it happens to you and to others, but it doesn't to me when I search both my library or the store, and I tried to use more than two words. Can't edit the wiki page, but I would like to suggest the addition of a newly emerging bug on Sonoma 14.7:
Inputting more than one search keyword and pressing RETURN consistently leads to the message: "Something went wrong. Please try again later".
This bug is documented by many users on its own Apple Support page.
Music App - Search error: "Something went wrong. Please try again later."
Thanks for the quick reply! Actually, I just checked it this morning, and it is working now on Sonoma 14.7. Apple might have done a server-side fix.Sorry it happens to you and to others, but it doesn't to me when I search both my library or the store, and I tried to use more than two words.
I add that I keep my music on an external disk
