Facts? Your personal anecdotes aren’t facts.

My personal observation of what my device is or is not doing is fact if I am not lying, which I am not.

You must be one of the believers that Apple products are perfect! Thanks for the laugh!

...my phone (iPhone X) is starting to hang up (iMessage) and stutter a bit. #cantinnovateanymoremyass

LOL! A phone without a headphone jack isn’t perfect for that alone.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought that you were suggesting that one person’s experience proves planned obsolescence as fact.

I suppose anything's possible but I find it highly unlikely considering the controversy it caused last year and the fact that iOS 12 is focused on performance improvements in their current devices, old and new alike.
Actually, last year's controversy just pretty much confirmed the planned obsolence theory. This theory wouldn't exist in the first place if it weren't so obvious.

Nope. Just suspect that it seems to happen to me in a minor way every year.

Well, sometimes coincidences happen. Seeing as how most people don't buy a new phone every year, I think it would do Apple more harm than good if the user experience of their devices gained a widespread reputation of declining that fast. Actually, if your phones consistently develop issues in just shy of a year, it makes more sense for you to take them in and get it fixed or replaced while they're still under warranty. My philosophy is that any phone that's not still kicking a$$ after 2-3 years was never a good phone in the first place, and I wouldn't keep buying them. Vote with your dollars.

Yeah, my phone I use for people I don't want to give my real number has started to do this too.

Might be something to do with it being an iPhone 5S, though...

Yeah iOS 12 to me has given an iPhone 6 I have a new lease on life. I just gave that phone to my daughter who had a SE which has newer hardware under the hood. Plus that it is available for the 5s seemed a pretty cool move. Perhaps it was a mea culpa on Apples part but still a welcome gesture.

Never have I said I didn't believe in it. What I was saying was I find it highly unlikely they would do it again after so recently getting publicly shamed for it.

You can also tell by looking at this forum. Most of these questions were answered a year ago on the last release but we will watch is all get re-hashed again! This is only the beginning.

Yellow Screen
Can I have it shipped to a different address?
Can I pre-order if I am on a business account?
Can I pre-order an unlocked phone?
Do I have to pay off the amount I owe before I upgrade?
My box was empty!
I waited all day and UPS/FedEX never showed but says ATTEMPTED!
Mine still says preparing for shipment! Should I call/cancel/place another order?
Should I get applecare+?
What Screen protector should I get?
What case should I get?
What color/size should I get?
Mine has a blemish OUT OF THE BOX!
Just ordered a 7/8 two days ago, can I exchange it for a XS?
Can I exchange a Verizon for a Sprint/AT&T/Different color/size?
Can I do instore pickup if I order from this website(insert website here)?
When will my card be charged?
My card hasn't been charged yet!
My phone has shipped but I haven't been charged yet! Free phone!
I was shipped two phones, will I be charged for both?
Do I need to turn in my current phone before I can upgrade?
Where's the best place to sell my current phone?

I'm sure there are more.

But u seem fine with the solution. So it’s a win win.
Just hand over another $1200 to the company selling buggy products.

Apple will be happy and you gain a stutter free phone for another year ;)

Congratulations! That’s great.

Seems to happen every year. Maybe it is just my set up. They are not major issues at all. I am simply saying for me the phone works flawlessly and about this time there are weird minor issues. Nothing that cannot be fixed with a simple restart. It was just an observation.
That did happen to me last year. After returning my IPhone X, I decided I would keep my 7 Plus for a few more months. But it started acting up, overheating sometimes, hanging, being generally alarming as the warranty period was coming to an end. So I traded it in while it still had value and got an white/silver 8 Plus. A few months later Product Red 8 Plus was released and I decided to go for that one, too, and got Apple Care Plus on it for the long haul.

This year so far, knock wood, the phones are fine. I’m still thinking very strongly about trading in the Silver 8 Plus before its warranty is done for an XS. For a lot of reasons I discussed in another thread. But I don’t have to. There’s nothing going on to flip my conspiracy theory trigger. And I do enjoy a good conspiracy, being an old X-Files fan and all. But so far, so good.

Except Apple supports their products YEARS
Longer then any other phone manufacturer, so nope. Not planned obsolescence

Yep! Example: iPhone 5s, 6 years. 3rd party apps are a little slow but that is to be expected. Native apps run nicely though.

I know...people hate facts!

I hate ignorance and ppl that don’t understand software.

There’s a reason why you don’t work at Apple and it’s largely due to the fact that you’re not smart enough to understand basic coding.
