Experience can be vary one person to another. For me, Big Sur is still not ready. It is slow, sluggish.
Mine is MacBook Air 2020 i5. Upgraded to Big Sur right after opening the Mac’s box. Trying to be patient for few months until 11.2.

I returned back to Catalina last week and the speed was back.

or you could have come to this forum, and started a thread, and asked for help. let's see, what's more productive? whining, or getting help. hmmm...

not everyone has these issues, so it's not the OS in general, it's something with your setup.

but people seem to prefer whining to fixing. go figure... 🤔
And gotten a reply like yours? You've been on this forum for almost as long as I have, surely by now you've noticed that true troubleshooting help is rare (especially for widespread slowdown and instability issues) and that when people want to vent, they just want to vent. You don't need to keep apologizing for the operating system on this thread. I'm working it out on my own, but felt frustrated enough to respond to the thread in general, offering a counterpoint to the apparent good luck you've been having. Let the people who are suffering commiserate, what cost does it come at to you?

i dunno, most of these threads are discussions about an issue and requests for support... and there's a good community here to do that. so i stand by my suggestion: start a thread. discuss your issue. and see what suggestions ppl here might provide.

might prove more rewarding than a rant. and, fwiw, am not apologizing for the OS, am just pointing out all the people in the 'real world' who are running big sur and just doing their 'real work'.

i'd rather resolve an issue than simply feel bad about it. but you're also right, in that, if people want to whine, or rant... they should be able to. just a shame so much of what these forums are is that; people complaining.
