Do you guys know if there's a way to keep the backlight always on? It's the only quarrel I have w/ this otherwise very good KB.

No, you can't. Not designed to work that way as it will significantly reduce the battery life. Should always come on as your hands approach the keyboard and before you touch it.

Bummer. IME the backlight turns off way too quickly. A couple seconds away from the KB and poof, it's off. The option should at least be there for those of us that would like it always on -- or at least an option for it to stay on a bit longer before sleeping.

see, I don't store documents on the actual mac itself, I keep sensitive stuff on a cloud ... I guess you have to think about your particular workflow. But, I have to say, that majority BT keyboards won't work with Filevault on BT. (I have tried), even keyChron fails here so does the Mac-specific keys version. Compromise is an apple keyboard, but no backlight and ridiculous money! :) Believe me, I spent a long time on it before paying for this keyboard! :) Good luck.
Thanks. I feared that may be the case with all Bluetooth keyboards (Apple excepted), but at least I now know before splashing out for an expensive keyboard.

MX Keys using Logitech bluetooth receiver works fine for me with filevault. No problems to log in. It’s a great keyboard.

FYI: The Logitech Unifying receiver is a dedicated USB wireless receiver, based on the nRF24L-family of RF devices - NOT Bluetooth.
