my $1 iphone paint job

I'm really enjoying the shock and horror in some of these responses. What fragile little worlds some of us live in. It's a freaking telephone, not some monument whose sanctity we must preserve or some such nonsense.

I completely agree. I think it's cool that you went for it, and it's completely your taste and unique. :)


And I'm looking hard at the mirror screen protector. That's hot!

For the gum wrapper thing - just peel the wax paper off the thin aluminum exterior and it sticks to almost anything. Kids at my highschool used to do this, comes off with out any residue. ;)

LOL! I'm in highschool and one of my friends did this to her phone (not an iPhone) and showed me last week. It was........original...

i got it for just a couple of dollars.

haha yeah i used to have a cheap black flip phone and i drew on it with pink nail polish. i was more hesitant to use nail polish on my iphone however..

yeah its pretty cool. i previously used my ipod touch as a compact mirror but the iphone doesnt have that shiny thing:/
the only thing that bothers me (and maybe im just ocd) but it doesnt match the normal iphone backing. like one side is shiny and one side is just all bland it makes me feel all uneven and asl;kdjfwe. thats part of why i wanted to change the back hahah
 
On second thought, it's sort of neat that you made it "you". Good job.

Wow. Just wow. I don't think that Invisible Shield will honor their lifetime warranty anymore... Either way, good job on making it your own...
 
I always contemplate painting mine, but I don't want to purchase the paint that can hold up to finger oils.

nah, i got it from bestskinsever. it was 1/2 the price as invisible shield too & they have great customer service.

i did the pink on the first invisible shield i put on, which kind of got scuffed up because i had finger nail polish on and it chipped and stuck the shield while i was applying it, so it scuffed when i tried to scratch it off

anyway i told them i scuffed it by accident and they sent me a new one. <33

& i could care less if you think it's terrible and looks like i spent a buck because i love it:)
 
seriously

the pink looks horrendous. However the mirror front is tight. Every time i see that image i think top gun. And lets face it top gun rules. I'm ordering my mirror protector now

come now i think it's warranted in this case

besides look at my posts, with the exception flaming noobs ( as I will continue to do) I have posted informative, detailed posts, including two product reviews
 
Despite what people have said, I think you did a good job. Apple's always been about being different and originality, why shouldn't it apply here?

Keep doing what makes you, you. Think Different!
 
FYI....
I did this to my phone when i was bored in classes a few years back...

The strangest thing happened though. I realized WOW! my phone must bet getting old, i'm getting less signal than i used to. I ignored it and moved on.

Until one day i didn't have reception at a place i usually did.

I got really frusturated and accidentally dropped my phone, The battery cover covered in the wrappers slid off. I opened my phone to make sure everything was ok.

1 bar, 2 bars, 3 bars

i put the cover back on, back to no service.

The antenna in my phone was underneath the battery cover, and the tin foil was KILLING my reception.

Just a heads up for anyone who does this.
