My 11" Air and my new 27" ACD...

Nothing short of astounding! :D
The ACD replaces my Samsung P2770FH...BIG DIFFERENCE...:eek:
I'll upload some pics later this evening or this weekend...
The 2560x1440 resolution is killing my eyes! LOL

I'll probably just use the ACD with my MBP...but it DOES look brilliant with the 11" Air Ultimate...SO easy to connect and disconnect without having to use those darn "Mini-DP Adapters"...

I use a setup very much like that with my MBA 13, Mac Mini Server, and iMac 27. When I use a mini display port cable between the Air and the iMac, the Air takes over the display. The Mac Mini server can also use the same iMac display when I need it.

Fantastic Setup :)

I've got this setup too and it's fantastic with my 13" 2.13GHz Air. :D

It's called "clamshell mode" (close macbook, let it go to sleep, move mouse or touch keyboard to awaken)...my MBP/MBA does not run any warmer...clamshell mode is Apple approved...;)

@neko girl. It runs absolutely cool. In fact, I only ever hear the fans when the Air is doing something intensive.

I'm going to get the TwelveSouth BookArc stand for the Air when it's released, so I can mount it vertical and tidy the cables up a little :)

was gonna do this setup, but after the ACD, Keyboard, Mouse, Magic Trackpad it was like nearly 1200+, so I just opted for spending 1699 on a refurbed i5 iMac :) Couldn't be happier

That is exactly how I feel. I am getting an 11" MBA, I would LOVE to get a
27" ACD. Too bad, I'm 18 working a busser job, about to go to college. Funds limit me to a 23" Samsung LED. (Hopefully soon!)

Before you purchase the Samsung LED, checkout the LG LED...a buddy of mine recently purchased the LG LED and I must tell you it is a STUNNER! Just beautiful! I've owned several Samsung's and mostly had good experiences but this new LG LED is jaw-dropping for the price...

Well, for one thing, the 2560x1440 resolution (the Samsung maxes out at 1920x1080 and the ease of setup changing resolution on the ACD is much apperceived by me...also the panel brightness is night and day...I don't do any professional work on the monitor but I do watch a TON of media on it and 1080p/720p video is just stunning on the ACD. The ACD has three USB ports on the back, a charger for the MBP, doesn't require an adapter to connect, has a built-in FaceTime camera, mic and pretty decent speakers, ambient light sensor and matches the display on my MBP with it's black border which I love...
Of course comparing the two is somewhat unfair as the ACD is a $1000USD LED backlit display and the Samsung is a sub $400 LCD...also, if you do not have a Mac computer, the ACD can be difficult to connect...luckily, I don't have the problem...:D

I've got a 27" ACD as well that I use with my 15" MBP. Ever since I got an iPad, it has basically become a desktop. ....and a really good one at that. :)

I bought a 24" LG LED and it's color quality was dismal at best, huge blue hue to the whole screen, I promptly returned it. I would suggest Samsung.

Funny, I had the opposite experience...I had a terrible time with the LCD leakage on one of my recent Samsung's..it was just horrid...had to return it...

I just got an Apple Cinema Display 27" for my Mac Pro and I am very happy about it. I had an Eizo 24" monitor that was really great, I wanted though to have the higher resolution, the iSight camera and the great Apple design. Evenn the fact that it is a glossy display doesn't bother me at all. The monitor is very bright and the colors look really great. Please note that I don't do any graphics professional work, so I cannot say how the monitor compares as a pro display.
The only thing that I find very negative is the length of the cable. It is about 90cm (3 feet) long. It is just ridiculous! I had to get an extension cable from Dr. Bott in order to connect it to my Mac Pro..Apple should really put a longer cable out there...

I agree about the camera petvas as I do a lot of video conferencing with clients and this makes it much easier...:)
What I really like about the ACD is that it is like an extension of my 15" i5 MBP display...but BIGGER (and Hi-Res)...
Also, the design is just plain beautiful...I know at $1000 the ACD isn't for everyone and for professional graphic/video artists there are better solutions, but for my needs it is perfect!
