Everyone always posts beautiful photos of their 'setups', but the truth is that many (probably most) of us, don’t have the cleanest most beautiful looking setups. Let’s see the ‘honest’ side of your computer. Take a photo of all the wires, all the filth, all of the disgusting parts of your setup that you usually wouldn’t show to anyone! It could be a close up of your disgusting keyboard, some leftover pizza which missed the trash can, or just a huge mess of tangled wires and peripherals.

For those with ‘beautiful setups’… I challenge you to find the part that isn’t. For every well laid out desk with perfectly placed accessories and careful lighting, there’s something being hidden. Let’s see it!

This is exactly why I haven't posted in the "Post your setup" thread. My desk is just plain waaay too messy to show off.

I read a report that found people with messy desks at work generally make more money than those with tidy desks. Sorry but I can't remember the source.

Einstein said something like, “If a cluttered desk signs a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?”

I must be friggen genius and apparently my boat is coming in, too. I need to chronicle all of this. Crap, I can't find a pencil.

That's my favourite quote. I use it all the time in work.:D

NC MacGuy - I'm thinking a Slushy machine filled with vodka and fruit juice. It is nearly summer, after all.

The good side of the grass.
Holy **** are you using a macbook pro as a stand for your Air? That is awesome.

You're kidding - there's a MBP in there??:D That means I bought this stupid Air for nothing!?

Actually people are amazed that I know where everything is and I also know when my space has been violated in the least. Never been a fan of files and hunting for stuff.

When my tower comes back from repair I will sort out the cables under the desk... I think. Might even sweep the floor too...

These are shots that other people took at desks I used to have at work.

They wanted them preserved for posterity.

It would have been worse in both cases, but the Fire Marshal tended to keep an eye on me for some reason.

So, not Mac setups, but live daily working conditions. :)

Under keyboard is the perfect spot. Reach, open, select & remove then swill. Make sure the fridge opens the proper way & you won't even have to get up.:D

Exactly my first thought also.

Left handle bar fridge.

If you prefer mixed drinks you may also have to consider an ice maker.

Roommates side of the room...

Thank god it's summer and I don't have to deal with that anymore.

Haha! Oh, man, this photo reminds me so much of college. I think we had very similar roomies! Mine never wanted to take out the trash, so he just used the underside of his desk. He also played World of Warcraft a lot. Does yours do the same?

You give me inspiration! Mine could look that good with a little elbow grease.:D Not actually that bad.

Redwarrior's looks pretty spiffy too. She even has the convenience of all those windows to open up and yell at the rugrats when they practice kung-fu fighting on the tramp with their homies.
