Carlisle, Up Norf!
i followed those steps exactly though?! i'll try once more
EDIT: ok i realised i didn't follow them properly
this better work

Yup. That one works for me. Well done on the first app.

Now you have the framework... Graphical work is next, cuz its kinda ugly. And I had to play with all the buttons to actually find out what the did... But it works, so well done on that. :)

Oh, and you have to put 'http://' so id either get that to correct its self orrrrr, have it auto filled.

Also, I found a strange bug, when you goto full screen the big 'T' logo thingy reappears over the webpage your looking at...

the t goes away on my machine
i dunno what's wrong.

Try to use the scroll wheel, or to click a link anywhere except the outer edges of the window. You'll see what's happening, the image (though invisible) gets in the way of mouse events. If you grab the window corner and resize it, the big T will reappear and you can see what's up.
should i get rid of that t thing all together?
That might not be a bad idea for now, while you are still beating the program into submission. The eye candy can always go back later. If you want to keep it, you might instead write a simple Web page that displays the image (or perhaps, a nice little intro/welcome message), stuff that inside your bundle, and load that as the default start page. That way you wouldn't have a different type of resource to deal with.

That's what i was thinking i would do. maybe in the next version

It runs.

There are a couple of problems with it though.

[1] Sometimes (don't know why) you can't click on any links, and you have to switch out of the browser, then come back before it will let you click them.

[2] It won't let me scroll using two fingers on my Trackpad, unlike like every other application in Mac OS X.

But it's a good first effort - keep trying.

BTW I typed this in Tominated.

Good Things:

[1] It uses a tiny amount of memory - about 1/5 less than Safari on my machine.
[2] I has less rendering bugs than IE!

It doesn't seem to work at all on my Intel Macbook, the browser loads but you can't type in addresses, and the big T won't go away

This is truely impressive - well done. It's a lot faster than Safari for me, which is kind of amusing but then I suppose Safari has a lot of features, whereas this has nothing.

List of things to be done :)

1. Make buttons more obvious as to what they are/do.
2. Let me select all in the address bar
3. Address bar - i don't want to type http://
4. Scrolling by mouse or two fingers just doesn't work? No idea why.
5. Javascript links don't seem to work - odd!

That's just a minimum :p You could do bookmarks, etc... anyway... what you've done so far is truely impressive as I cannot do a thing in Xcode much to HexMonkey's dismay.

That is really slick. Faster than FireFox and same speed as Safari!

Of course the things other people have pointed out, but also:

So you finally got it working. Good for you, especially since you're 2 years younger than me and we live in the same country. I better start making my mark on the net before all these young fellows take over. ;)

Unfortunately they don't offer the the same tests they did back in primary school at the high school I go to. The last time I did the computer test was Yr6 I think and I got something good but I can't remember. And you've got it a bit luckier than me (and unluckier in some other ways) because you live in a capital city on the east coast.

whoa, its like having a mini dock, but I would try it somewhere else, because my dock would appear (I fully expand my web browser it bugs the PISS out of me when it isnt :) but its a good idea. I would try it appearing out the top though : ) and have it so that the sides expand from it would be cool too, maybe designing a cool heart or star bubble for favorites to balance the other side out (it only has three bubbles). The gripper is also a cool idea. Overall it is a very good project : )

Yes that is the tricky part. I have a question actually, It gives you a date/time thingy in the script toolly thing (really bad terminology because its still early) I was wondering if you happened to know how I could make that appear at waking from sleep or startup of the computer?? finder>apps>applescript>example scripts>info scripts

1. I have no idea what you are talking about
2. I didn't/don't use applescript
