Being that you're a web designer it's well worth being aware there is no hash key on Macs, which is incredibly useful when coding CSS.

Shortcut: Option+3 (Alt+3)

I realise you could search but hey, a heads up is always a bonus!

mate I am lost, is your keyboard different to mine, because my Mac has the # symbol right above the number 3, all I do is hit: Shift + 3

unless you call something else hash, but seeing as the # is used in css, i assume you mean that.

I still remember getting the first 24" iMac that came out, I had a 12" iBook before that.
It was just amazing, the screen, the speed, the woaw factor.
Family and friends kept saying: "That´s a nice monitor."
And I would say; "not only that, but it´s also my new computer"

Well if you would look there are periods there just no capital letters so that may be your problem. Like i said I love my mini. I have it hooked up to my 42 inch tv so i have my own version of a imac just not its power.

Yes, UK keyboards have the £ sign on shift-3 with # on alt-3. Great if you're an accountant. Bad if you're a web professional.

Not bad enough to not use a Mac, but still annoying.

could somebody with core i5 or i7 imac make iroeg dump?

run this command in Terminal.app

ioreg -l -w0 > ~/Desktop/dump.txt

file will appear on your desktop.

I'm guessing the alternative would have been to replace the $ sign with the £ sign on the 4... which would have sent the Perl and PHP developers on a murderous rampage. ;)
