Didn't think it would work but it's literally the perfect size for watching content on the go.

I'm going to buy another 11 pro just to keep this one in the car. Completely changes the enjoyment in my car.

Because his Pioneer Display from BestBuy wasn’t enough he adds a bigger display on top.

You should not be watching content while you are driving. Period. What is your problem? This is absurd. There is your car, there is you in it, there is your car with you in it watching a goddam conputer while you are speeding down the road. There are other cars and people on the road. What could possibly go wrong? Your post is offensive on so many levels that it defies comprehension. When you are driving a car, put the phone, the ipod, the computer away. Have a bit of consideration for others. For goodness sake, this is really nonsensical. Am I that old? Do young people really think this way? Like, sure, I'll watch a video while I'm driving down a road at a high rate of speed. Cool!

Taking the p**s, has just put it there as fits for the photo. No way driving watching video in that position.

Let’s not all jump to conclusions. It’s possible that the OP is being responsible and planning to only use the iPad when safely parked or stopped somewhere like a drive-thru. I don’t condone using any devices while driving, but I don’t think it’s quite fair to assume that the OP is doing so.

It may be dangerous but people have had full videos playing in cars for YEARS! They hack the sensors designed to prevent it. Driving while distracted is dangerous and there can be many distractions while driving. Arguing with spouse/kids etc, putting on makeup, reading books, texting, loose pets, you name it. It doesn't even look like he was driving with the game on.

There are many ways to get injured or die and "IF" this person is driving and dividing his attention it's certainly an issue but there are so many more common ways to end up in a car accident. It is not the all encompassing disaster being expressed in some of these posts. If they actually tracked such things I bet more accidents are caused by people trying to eat their entire meal while driving but I don't see unhinged posts about how horrible it is for someone to look at their Whopper while trying to stop the slop. Every Tesla can play actual games while in motion. Just having to look down or to the right to track a Map app on a regular radio is distracting.

Practice defensive driving, pay attention to the idiots near you and do your best to make it to your destination. I see no reason to berate or denigrate someone because of the potential something "could" happen, even if their actions are potentially irresponsible. This is just one more road hazard and it won't be the last.

This is no different than the hundreds of other drivers I see on a daily basis driving with their phone in their hand looking at their screen and not the road. I will only play videos when I’m stopped, parked with the car off. But it sure is quite the experience when I am out somewhere and have a few mins to kill here and there. It’s like having a mini TV right in my car. Since Covid, I will often have lunch in my car instead of in public places so watching videos on the iPad is so much better than watching on my phone. Completely enhances the in car experience. My pioneer deck is actually wired so that I can actually put in a DVD and allow the passenger in my car to watch a movie while I am driving. You can’t get a ticket for that, it’s no different than cars who have DVD screens in the backseat for their kids to watch while on road trips.

What’s the big deal then, I have used a iPad in my car ever since the first one killing time lol

If a copper pulls up beside you here and you have a video playing your gone. AU.

Then why mount it in a obvious position where they could use it while driving. ?‍♂️

BTW a drive-thru isn't safe you still have to drive.

You apparently have not had to wait 10 minutes until someone trots out to your car with your order.

Oh, and when I’m traveling, my iPad Mini 6 is mounted in exactly that spot with the map for my trip visible and music from the iPad playing in the background. I don’t watch videos or check texts or email while driving, though, even though I could use it while I’m driving. (IOW, just because I could doesn’t mean that I do.)

Distracted driving kills people regardless of the source. Ask your insurance company how they feel about it.

I love how everyone jumped to conclusions, sure the first post could have said a little more detail (which is in an above post) but what if OP wants to now use the ipad as a better screen for maps? and while OP is parked waiting for whatever have some show going. I used to have a similar setup before I got a vehicle with wireless careplay, I hated the default stereo/nav system an old car of mine had so I used my ipad that was tethered to my phone for a much better navigation experience, and if I got to work a little early or to an appointment extra early I would watch YouTube or something (depends on how much spare time). Plus I am not sure if OP has dark tinted windows, but even if OP wanted to watch videos while driving, unless there is some serious dark tint any officer that OP drives next to would see a video playing or see OP trying to make quick changes on that large screen.

Great for you! Sorry you can't wait 10 minutes and suffer from device withdrawal. That must be horrible.

Still not a great idea to use this setup in a car, no matter what you are claiming.

How is it any different than the people who have say a Tesla model whatever and streaming video while waiting in their car? and there was a brief time period the company even allowed streaming/gaming while driving for passengers (while it was just simple for a driver to acknowledge they are a passenger), now when the NHTSA launched an investigation into it then that is when Tesla stopped the ability. To this day though a Tesla can stream/game while parked so I say again, why is someone mounting an iPad to do the same any different?
