I'd try a Galaxy SIII.. I can't say i'd give up my iPhone for it, but I would test it out for a few days.

I quit using Android around 2.3.4, so A LOT has changed since then...

To be honest i would do what you want, It is just a phone at the end of the day.
If you like the Galaxy SIII better for the screen have a good play with it and make your decision. My friend bought one last week after losing his Windows phone on a night out and after setting it up for him i have to say i liked it.

As for Apple changing the screen size, it's taken them this long to add very little onto the screen so I won't be holding my breath.

I used Android for 2.5 years. My last Android was the GSM Galaxy Nexus from play store. While jellybean made Android faster it still lags behind iOS in performance, the non GSM nexus phones get updates late if ever, and each phone seems to have its own unique issue. The inherent lag with Android is still there. That being said the s3 is probably one of the better Android devices there is. See this video for a speed comparison vs the 4s, the 4s wins: http://youtu.be/msPHKs8cmbs

Wrong. Jelly Bean made it more fluid than iPhone.

This couldn't be farther from the truth. I have had a bunch of android devices over the past 2.5 years. My last 2 were the Nexus and Tab 2. Both with jellybean. I still have my tab 2 with jellybean. It's fast but no way as fluid as iOS. It's still a bit choppy. Even my 4s is more fluid and faster than my jellybean devices. See the comparison video I posted. Android is still rooted in non touch legacy code and forces frame rate amongst other things.

Good Grief. All I wanted to know was if Apple had any plans to make a bigger screen to satisfy the people that would like one. At 60, the GS3 is easier to see, but I don't want to change.

Saw this incredibly blunt post in another similar thread, and I think it applies here.

I don't know why you'd pull that quote. It doesn't apply here. The OP clearly mentioned he does not want to switch, but just that he'd like a bigger screen. I don't know what some people get so defensive about.

----------

The Samsungs GS3 has a very unresponsive touch in comparison with all the iPhones . It's like a 2 second delay.

At least we know you've never used the GS3.

----------

I tried it out 1 week ago, don't fool the members here on the forums.

It sound like you're the one trying to fool others.

----------

Nothing could be more responsive/fluid than my iPhone 5. This thing never fails.

Why? Is this a law?

You probably didn't post this in the alternatives section. People tend to crazy when they hear Samsung or Android on other forums.

I can't see Apple going with a larger display than the 4 inch iPhone 5 anytime soon; if ever. Certainly not in the next 2 to 3 years.

If the larger display is that important to you make the change to Android or be prepared to wait a long time.

I suspect they won't significantly change the size of the screen soon, because they're very keen on it being usable with one hand, but, then again, they'd "never" make a ~7" tablet, and then bowed to pressure from 7" tablets.

I think it is unlikely a wider screen will appear in the near future, but I suspect one will appear at some point, especially as the iPhone-savvy age demographic is expanding. Retina displays mean less to those whose eyes are older, and that group of potential customers is growing.

----------

2 seconds? The lag is almost 10 minutes :rolleyes:
I wish you'd stop hiding the truth. My younger brother bought an SIII this summer, and he's still waiting on the initial swipe to register. There are growing rumors that the display is just painted on.

Meanwhile, my trusty 4S actually swipes before I even touch it. Precognition is an iOS feature that puts it way ahead of Android.

It's post like this that irritate me! It's not painted on, it's a backlit picture. That's why the screen goes blank on a battery pull. Duh

You don't need to justify your choices to anyone. Get what you enjoy using.

You paid to advertise a company? That's something I'd never do, unless it was my company. I even hate how most cases have a hole on the back to show off the apple logo.

One of my favorite things about apple vs android is they are able to keep Verizon's logo off their phones.

But regardless, use what works best for you. In the real world no one gives anyone grief for what phone they are using and if they do its just some office BS'ing.
