Just for reference, how big is the device in the mockup?
For a device like this to come about, Apple will really have to work on a new OS. We'll see what 10.7 brings to the table.

I'd say a 15.4 inch screen like the midsize macbook pro, again i think the hovering finger tracking tech that Apple's working on will go a long way in facilitating a brand new touch based OS that more closely resembles OSX than iPhone OS. Finger tracking technology that feels precise like waving a stylus across a Wacom for mousing around and then clicking when you touch would go a long way toward making this a reality. A touch based laptop replacement is inevitable from Apple and will surely make traditional laptops more of a niche, though when this actually happens is debatable. Apple can certainly cash in on the appstore through iPhone OS for a while before the competition catches up.

I would say that even 13 inches is a bit unwieldy. So 15 is going to be a bit hard to manage.

I just tried your device and it sucks. The hard drive is too noisy, it throws off too much heat, and the radio seems to get mass inteference.

Also the usb ports are not powered and the UI is absurd and multi touch barely works.

Take that piece of garbage back to the garage and fix it!
what you are describing is the Macbook Air.
