All of the presidential/VP type motorcades contain an ambulance. This has been an occurance since Reagan was shot back in the 80's. I was in DC back in September and the tour guide gave us this little tidbit of info when we saw a similar motorcade

Every new iweb site I have seen has shared this characteristic. The graphics come in like you're on a 56K connection. It is a server-side problem; I've observed it on a couple of different cable connections. Apple needs to beef up their servers if they can't push out static content any faster than that.

Not trying to sound like a know it all, but the president never uses that entrance. Also, the presidential motorcade is about twice as long and usually has a half-dozen agents hanging off of Suburbans with rifles.
I used to see Cheney almost every morning on my run up Mass. Ave. I got stopped on several runs for Dubya.
One of the neat things about living in DC.
So far I can find little or no use for iWeb, but I will dig deeper and see.

There's a seal on the cars--too far away to tell, but presumably it's president or VP in one of the cars (does the VP limo get the seal?). And there's probably more motorcade behind or in front of the pics in the display.
(the agents are in teh rear of the suburban in the second pic, btw, with the open liftgate)

It looks like what Cheney's motorcade looks like. Most cabinet members have like three cars or so...from what I have seen - but it is always neat to see.

I'm pretty sure it was Cheney. The reason I suspect this is because I read in the paper the next day that he had to give a speech somewhere at 2:30. We saw the motorcade around 4, so he was probably on his way back.
There were 2 limos the were identical, I guess so you don't know which one he's in.
The security was awesome, it made you feel safe in the city. I remember going to the whitehouse at night, and you could faintly see a guy dressed all in black on top of the white house walking around with machine gun in hand. He also used nightvision (probably) binoculars, i dont know, it just felt like something out of a Bond movie. It was cool

Agreed. I walked through the new promenade that used to be Pennsylvania Ave last month. It looks a lot better with the built-to-order bollards, the brick-blocks, instead of a bunch of jersey barriers. The entrance in those pictures is from a street that has been opened and closed at various points over the last few months.
Overall it's a depressing trend, but recognizes reality. Oklahoma City made it obvious how susceptible to terrorism much of the government is. At least now we can build things with countermeasures built in--it looks much better that way.

BTW, thanks for sharing the iWeb demo. I got the slow loads too, so the problem must be with Apple somehow.
I found a thread with this same discussion at the apple site. Here is one solution...kvanwagoner said:
1. I created a photos page from iPhoto and uploaded it to iWeb.
2. I used SHIFT-APPLE-4 to do a screen capture of just the area I wanted, in this case the first picture on my photo page.
3. Using the page inspector, I removed that page from the navigation bar at the top
4. I created a new page called photos and left it in the navigation
5. I copied my screenshot image onto the new page and added a hyperlink to the "hidden" christmas photos page.
Not a very elegant solution, but it works.

Why take a screen shot? Why not just grab that image from your library, add it to the page and put a link on it?

Here's my site that I threw up, hosted on my normal web server. It's not too bad, but I still prefer Wordpress by far. I realize the target audience though: people who want to make a web site but have no idea how to. For someone like that, iWeb is perfect.
