Apple store quoted me 8-10 days last night.... Got a phone call this afternoon telling me that the parts needed to make the repairs will not be available until ... END OF MAY!!!!! (worst case scenario) Oh how I laughed!!!! So now I am back to square one. Waiting for my supplier to get back to me with a replacement... Yawn.
Mr Jobs... Or whatever your name is.... I know things do go wrong etc etc blah blah... But why release a professional tool, such as the MBP, that you can't support within the first three months of it's life!?
Do you guys in the USA have the same trouble getting spares...?

Worth repeating, since no one has answered yet.Don M. said:Out of curiosity, what data? Is there a listing of Apple's defect rate? I don't recall seeing this anywhere so I'd be interested to see how the assumption that Apple's defect rate is "low" when, in fact, it could actually be "high."

Everyone assumes that Apple's defect rate is better than the industry norm but I've seen no data to support or refute that position.
In essence I don't see why Apple = quality when we have nothing to back that up. I think most people are making that leap on the basis of higher price = quality.
Not sure about the validity of this, but it looks pretty believable.Don M. said:Worth repeating, since no one has answered yet.
