I'm kinda late to the party on giving advice on this, but I had the same issue with the foliage color on my black 4S. The flash washout wasn't awful, but it was there. So I used the trick others used on cases for the 4 that had the washout issue...I used a Sharpie and blacked out the inside of the "ring" around the flash and camera lens. That cured the problem completely. I actually put 2 coats of Sharpie on there...put the first one on, let it dry, then applied the 2nd one. I recommend doing it with the case off the phone...lol.

The "sweat" you guys talk about is oil seeping from the case itself. Magpul polymers are built to be self lubricating, and as such, it gets on the phone. I usually just put a piece of paper towel on the back of my phone and it does the trick.
As a shooting enthusiast, I *had* to get a Magpul case. Now if only they could make one out of hairs from Chris Costa's beard...

Your wrong my friend. I have the orange Field and it does affect the flash. Please edit your review because it is not accurate. The sharpie trick worked but people need to expect to do this on the lighter colors.
I've had my Field case on my 4S for a few months now. Just thought i would share a real life drop scenario.
I had my phone in my lap while driving the other day and when i got out in my garage it went flying. It tumbled and slid right on its face from about a 4 foot drop onto concrete as I hopped out of my truck. Zero damage. Didnt even scuff the case to the point where i couldnt tell where the point of impact was. Just thought I would share.

Is the Field case any thicker than the Exec case? I have a black Exec right now (love it!) but it has started to warp a bit on the edges. I'm hoping the Field case is a bit sturdier and will hold its shape better.
If so, I may just pick one up and be done with case shopping/obsessing.

Yes, the field case is a tad thicker.
Map -- I appreciate the thorough review + hi-res pics. I've had three consecutive crappy-case experiences (CaseMate Pop, Switcheasy Eclipse, Switcheasy Trim), but I've been looking at the MagPul for a while so I think I'm going to grab it. (Only $10 at Amazon right now.)
