a different way? The way I usually do it is by looking at the serial number. Mine is a week 43 by the way, and I only got it yesterday.

Yeah, mine is week 45. I just wasn't sure if looking at the Serial number's first couple of digits was the way to tell the week build.

No horizontal lines, awesome design, and decent speed, comparable to my first generation MacBook Pro.

Loving it! :p

I can tell you're real happy with yours, i love mine too hehe! I almost didn't buy it after reading about the horizontal lines issue, but glad I did :p

what are your temps like and fan speed? I find my temp stays in the 54 degrees to 56 degrees range. Fan speed is about 2600 rpm, but after watching a HD movie it goes up to 6,000 rpm! That's when i can hear the fans, it's pretty crazy. But i guess it's good since it keeps the MBA cool.

though I should add, i never experienced the first gen MBA, but the air does feel a little warm to the touch when i put it on my lap.

Haven't watched any HD movies yet but otherwise, my experience matches up perfectly with yours. To me, the temp is fine. I have a Gen. 1,1 MBP and two things annoy the crap out of me about it: 1) Always HOT 2) Fans have to be at max just to make it ok to even hold in the hands or lap. And even that, it's still too dangerous for my 'boys' down there.

The MBA is my new workhorse on the go. Hopefully after the repairs to my MBP's logic board and screen, I'll fall in love with it again. For now, I'm infatuated with my MBA :)

1) Recharge cycle is like 2h45m for a full charge! WTF?

:)

What do you mean by recharge cycle? do you mean your battery lasts 2:45 on a full charge? or that is how long it takes to recharge it?

Just curious as my new 1.86 SSD takes 8 and 1/2 hours to recharge the battery from empty to full - but it last about 4 or 5 hours when using it.

yup, it's gonna be my mobile command center starting Monday as well. To be honest my mac pro is feeling a little neglected because since the new kid came I haven't touched it haha

Performance wise, I have been very pleased, I've run a HD movie with adium, safari, in the background whilst at the same time doing a 12 GB backup to time machine.

Mine says 4h02m after nearly a full discharge. It is true that the battery on the MBA seems to last longer (~ 3-4h) as opposed to my MBP which dies after 1h30.

However, the recharge rate from empty to full charge is a little too long. I'm always gonna have to carry my power adapter with me at all times.

Geez, I need to start backing up my files to start moving them here onto my MBA. Well at least this is a good excuse to do it. :D

Just bought a Rev B and very happy with it having the rev A was a nightmare:)

I've only seen bad experiences with the 1st gen. Can't say I would know since I didn't have one myself. Glad to see someone who's been thru both versions finds this latest build more pleasant ;)
