3.3 pounds is a pretty substantial difference

I too carry around a 15" mbp, and I can tell you my backpack becomes much heavier when I put it in there. It's already full of heavy books when I put it in, and with that much weight, removing (or adding) 3 pounds can make quite a difference. If you need the power the mbp offers, then obviousy an air isn't an option. But if portability is more important, the weight difference is invaluable.

When I'm out and about, all I need my laptop for is taking notes and accessing the Internet. So having an air would be beneficial for me. If only I could justify having 2 laptops

3.3 lbs is too heavy?!?!?!
you guys are a bunch of pansies. I played with the MBA yesterday at the apple store. It was fun little toy. But honestly I love the space my MBP 17 offers. Before I got my Ipad I used to carry the MBP everywhere, and it is nowhere near the behemoth you dainty little finger guys are making it out to be.

Do remember that there are some people not used to carrying loads with them. Now, on the note on the correct English, that was quite funny.

I carry my large laptop lump with me. Sometimes it's like carrying this book with me:

Nobody said it was too heavy. It is a noticeable difference. Two different reasons.

strap it on your back, use a system of braces to suspend the display in front of yourself, and get a monkey to work the hand crank generator needed to power it all from your shoulder

then not only will you be mobile with your setup, you can stand on the side of the road and have the monkey get you tips
