You should have done that long ago: Send them a written notice (registered) that you give them a (reasonable, i.e., at least 2 weeks) deadline to deliver your iMac, and that you want them to give you your money back if they are unable to comply.

That letter is worth less than even the registered post you sent for it, when you paid your deposit you signed a sales agreement, don't like it? Just walk, and oh, the deposit is no longer yours too...

Paying a deposit for anything is really *not wise*

I'm very sure I could cancel yes... but if it's true that the new Mac's are being released (and that is the reason for the long delay, building all the orders into the new models).. then I don't see a point in cancelling.

The only real problem is that because of Apple's secretive PR rubbish, I won't know unless I wait another 9 days for their announcement!

Update ...

Today around 9:15am I recieved a call from the Apple Store (KRCS) to say that my order had been shipped and is due to arrive this friday in the store for me to go pick it up.

So unless there's an iMac upgrade on the 5th (as per some rumours, 5th, 12th.. make your minds up)... then I have now have a Core Duo 20" iMac, with 2gb of ram and a 256mb graphics card installed :)

Good news though, if they do release a new model on the 12th and I miss out - then they have a 14 day return policy on all computers including customise-to-order computers.
