but its not worth it, that's the point. its wasting their time because the idea is pointless.

why is it pointless? please explain. i think theres a slight chance the content of the message is on the sim card. thats where sms messages were stored. once.

i think its worth the $1 cost of a lame phone, we throw away 500 million of those.

you read the messages.and if your one in a million you might see some beacon from fire chat or some crap.

heck maybe the messages are being received and not sent.

another thing that bugs is me this guy says the bill says he is sending a message twice a day.

well then , post the phone number or short code that the message was sent to.

if we had the phone number, we would probably know.

maybe the phone company is wrong, and he is receiving messages.

Well, read 2 of my posts. The messages are supposedly sent to MY number, FROM my number. And my cell company would not charge me for receiving SMS, ONLY SENDING.

Same-o same-o.

Reset my phone last nite, reinstalled system as new phone. Left phone empty except for downloading the True Cell phone app so I could monitor the usage.

At around noon today, I looked, and the 2 SMS were there, like clockwork. Same irritating sequence. So cannot be a downloaded app doing it, as there weren't any loaded.

Gonna have to try to find a True Phone tech support wizard that speaks english to research this more.

Is it iOS itself that is doing this for whatever reason?

I may have missed it but is FaceTime activated? Is it giving you an error? And have you tried disabling it?

Is it possible for you to disable iMessage and FaceTime in setting during that period of time?

Just a thought, could the service provider be ripping him off. Definitely seems like something at their end.

This was very close. Looks like it is finally solved, after a lengthy call to tech support.

First, this is how it happened. Got to Thailand about 3 months ago, and my wife set us up with TrueMove 4g service plan.

All worked well, but I was curious as to why the plan cost me 899฿ per month, and my bill was a little over 1000฿. Forgot about it. We changed the plan a couple weeks ago and I started monitoring the usage. That is how I discovered the texts. 2 every morning, day after day. My plan does not include SMS, so charges added up, a little every day.

Turns out that right after getting the phone, I started getting junk SMS. Ads for everything from Fortune telling, lottery numbers, whatever. I finally blocked them.

Well, it turns out, that just by reading the text message, and not replying with a 'No', I was giving implied consent to receive a Lucky Lottery Number SMS, every day. From 2 different sources. And because I then blocked the numbers, I never saw the texts. For some reason the telemarketer is able to put my phone number as both the sender and sendee.

I asked them to cancel all SMS subscriptions on the account.

Crazy stuff.

Wow! I've been reading this thread from the beginning. It's been like an exciting mystery novel without the flashy characters. ;) Glad a resolution was found, and it was so simple.
