Finally got my order placed from apple.com for delivery on the 24th. I have been at it for over 9 hours. lol

(Good thing I am the IT manager so it isn't odd for me to be on the computer all day)


got the order # (saved the "receipt" [web]page) and already been billed.
 
Went to the Apple Store this morning to order a 16GB for wife and 32GB for me. Used their iMac to order the 32 went thru in less than a minute, after that, forget it.

Tried all day at home. Not Happy. Loaded the Apple Store App on my 1st Gen iPod Touch. Reserved a 16GB for the wife in less that a minute. Why didn't I look at the other threads here about doing that earlier. Stupid.

Have both confirmation email. YES.
 
Just noticed that AT&T has debited my account for $213 and some change as oppose to the $1 charge they authorized this AM after placing my order.
 
In for two...

I couldn't get the apple site to cooperate this morning so I ended up getting two in a family plan from the at&t site instead. First iPhone ever...
 
finally got my order completed for the wife and i. one phone will be shipped, had to reserve the other at the apple store. crossing my fingers that everything works as planned.
 
Placed my pre-order through the Apple Store app, finished in less than 5 minutes. That's after I spent 2 hours trying on the Apple website:mad: I'll be standing inline next Thursday.

Got mine done at 1PM after many attempts on AT&T, my wife's surprise upgrade finally went through at 4pm after many many attempts. Even trying to do 2 on one cart failed miserably.
 
Ordered at the AT&T store. They've been "slammed" all day and they're guessing at this point that we WON'T get ours on the 24th, but they're guessing "sometime between 6/25 and 7/2". They'll email when they're shipped so we know when to get them.

Nice to have that out of the way.
 
LOL, I got in on AT&T's website, and now I can't remember my password for my fan account. I feel like a moron. I am trying to go through the "forgot password" setup, but like everything else, it is dragging.
 
I placed an order on AT&T at 7:00 am EST, and the credit card I used was not linked to my shipping address. AT&T sent me an e-mail as follows:

Unfortunately, we are unable to verify the availability of funds with the card you provided. As a result, your order has not been processed.

Please call us at 1-866-391-0749 by June 22, 2010 to provide updated payment information. Order specialists are available to assist you Monday thru Sunday: 8 a.m. to 12 midnight Eastern Time.

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to serving you. If we don't hear from you by June 22, 2010 , with updated payment information, your order will be automatically canceled.

I placed 3 more orders on AT&T, all of which hung at the last step (after the payment screen). Apparently they all went through because i got 3 e-mails that all the orders were cancelled because of too many lines blah, blah, blah.

I called AT&T as requested to update my credit card, and after a 45 minute wait, gave the info. The agent told me it went through, and I immediately saw my upgrade eligibility date change online. About a few hours later, I checked the order status, and it did go through and I am all set!

I also reserved one at the Apple Store using the iPhone Apple Store app, just in case.
 
Interesting that is varies so much. I finally gave up ordering online and just went down to the local AT&T store. In and out in about 30 minutes. This was around 2:30PM EST. If I don't get it on the 24th, no big deal.
 
I still can't get through on the Apple Store. I've seen this blamed on AT&T's computers, but I'm not sure about that. I have gotten past the point where AT&T cleared my account for the correct price, and then have crashed waiting to order. That sounds more like a problem with Apple's system than one that can be blamed on AT&T.
