I have a 2007 Week 2 MacBook here... and no whine that I can hear, but it just started flickering. That's pretty goddamned annoying, and I'm dreading having to send it back to Apple. Sorry to hear you're still having trouble, and sorry that all these jerks are sassing you. I can't wait until people start harassing me for Apple's plunging QC

No whine before repair, whine present after repair

My girlfriends macbook had no whine when she first got it in August (although the screen flickers once when turned on, no biggy). Last week she spilled water on it and killed it. Got it back from Apple yesterday and now it has the whine. It's quite annoying when you are in a quiet room. She just had to drink water next to her computer...

The simple answer is, the whine is just in the nature of the processor. Get used to it. The less you think about it, the less you'll notice it.

I can't hear the fan on default settings in a quiet room. Theres a woosh sound, but it closer to the bottom right (next to the trackpad) which means it's my hard drive (try it yourself).

Don't look out for flaws and you won't notice them. This is one of the quietest laptops in the world, stop listening too hard.
