Any improvement to memory management on 5.0.2 over 4.4?

It went from 1.8gb to 1.6gb but will prolly get it back on next firmware.overall the phone runs well but slightly less smooth from last 4.4.4.

It could be because I'm power using the hell out of it to try it all out but it's running really well so far

I bet it will be smoother once things settle. I think Lollipop update also switches your phone to ART so I would give it a day or two to settle.

Just updated mine also, so far liking lollipop, it did take a bit for it to convert my installed apps to run on art, but I like the new os, I also like the notifications better now too. Touchwiz doesn't seem to have really changed at all.

You called it! It's running a lot better now after updating a few apps and after running for a bit after reboot

My only issue is music player while phone is locked doesn't have back button to play last song while the phone is locked

I received the update on December on my S5. Overall really good, but slightly slower than 4.4, mainly when hitting the multitasking button.

The new notifications are great but they do not work perfect always. For example, I don't understand why Gmail notifications still pop up the old way. They never appear like the new way. Never. It's weird.

Battery still great.

I hope they fix the multitasking thing and make it faster.

Try pulling down on that tab on your lock screen. I see to recall another discussion about this very issue, can't recall exactly where (Nexus 6 thread maybe?). I believe doing so then reveals the full controls. No guarantee this will be the case on the S5 since it's skinned with TW but my guess it that it works the same.

Update: Actually found the discussion here in the Thoughts on Lollipop thread.

2 fingers down will give you the option to go back a song.this is a huge pain for me and hope they update this asap.

Is this with the stock player? Google player?
I use jetAudio best lockscreen options.

Got to try the S5 with 5.0 today at work. Lots of nice little improvements. Can't wait for it to drop on my Note 4.

Technically no, I believe HTC started releasing to the M8 late last month in Europe and Developer Edition and Unlocked models received it early January. As far as US carriers go, yes, Samsung beat HTC by a couple days (Sprint M8 has started to receive its update).

Samsung also released 5 0 in parts of the world before usa got it.they are now on 5.01 while we just got 5.0
