I encountered this same issue when upgrading from my iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4 and setting it up as a new device and installing Navigon from scratch. If you select Purchase again, you will NOT be charged again. A PR manager from navigon confirmed this for me in this tweet.

And right you are, many thanks r6girl! :)

Silly that their FAQ mentions something that is not on the App. This is a little bump to what has been a great experience for me with Navigon, however I am hopeful that they will end up resolving that with an update.

So I purchased traffic and Panorama 3D for the iPhone 4 (it was cheap, why not?)

Now, Navigon downloads the Panorama 3D (which takes hours, literally, and I'm on super fast Wifi!) and when it's done downloading, it starts downloading again. This has happened 3 times so far. A reboot, closing the icon, and uninstalling / reinstalling the app doesn't help.

Any ideas? I haven't seen anyone else with this problem. Weird.

Adster, I'm having this same problem. Live traffic downloaded fine, but noy the 3D Panorama. A number of times, it's even gone past the /580.7 MB. At one point, it was 640.2 MB/580.7 MB. I went back to the main screen, and then came back to the download page, and it had started over at 0 / 580.7 MB. Very frustrating!!

Would you guys recommend Navigon at the reduced price with live traffic? I can't decide whether to go with this or CoPilot?

So far so good

Due to the special price I decided to give this a go.

Works really well, so downloaded the extras. All works fine for me.

The only thing I noticed when downloading the Panorama View was that it seemed to download the 245mb twice, after the second download it said "Restart the application for changes to take place" (or something like that).

Everything works a treat!.

Always used NDrive and iGo My Way but Navigon is far better and for £15 it's a no brainer.

I tried CoPilot, and although the interface is ok, the Maps are terrible. Very outdated. I've also heard that from a number of other people too.

I took the plunge and bought Navigon on Friday. Tried it out today on a trip I routinely take (about 2.5 hours each way), and it was great. No lag or issues on my iPhone 4, and the directions were spot on. And since the maps are preloaded on the phone, I had no issues in the few spots where I know that I loose cellular service along the route (was using MotionX GPS before, and although is great, it can have problems since it serves up the maps as you go).

And the Traffic Updates on Navigon paid for themselves today, too! At one point, on my return trip, I was coming up to a traffic backup on the freeway, and Navigon informed me about it ahead of time, and told me if I tried to go straight through it, it would add an hour onto my trip, but if I turned off onto this other freeway, it would meet back up with the main freeway on the other side of the backup, and I would only incur an extra 5 minutes onto my trip. So, as I came to the turn off, I saw all the cars in front of me going straight at a dead stop (and didn't look like they were about to move anytime soon). I took the turn off, and sailed along at full speed, and rejoined the freeway where it was moving again. Although I can't say for sure that I really would have spent an extra hour in that backup, but I can tell you that it sure LOOKED like I would of. So, for me, Navigon did it's job. Glad I purchased it, and at the 50% off it was a bargain. Plus, I went to OfficeMax, and bought the two $25 iTunes Gift Cards for $40 (sale they were having until yesterday), so basically, I was able to buy the app ($39.99) and the traffic ($9.99) and 3D ($4.99) for $45, instead of $55.

Glad I did!:D

I had that issue a number of times. Must have downloaded that 3D Panorama 500 MB file about 10 times. Then, finally, it just worked one time. Not sure why. Didn't do anything different that 11th time. In face, I was around try 4 or 5 that I tried uninstalling the app, and reinstalling. Exiting the app completely, and restarting. And nothing. But on the 11th try, it just worked. And now it's there and is working fine. Although, in hindsight, I live in a relatively flat area, and it really doesn't provide much additional detail. Probably could have passed on it, but for $4.99, I figured "what the heck"!

This probably isn't the most helpful review, but I tried the traffic feature today on my way home from work. I'm in Toronto. It normally takes me about 25 minutes. Leaving it up to Navigon to plot my course, taking traffic into account, it took about 30 minutes. It's a limited test, but it's a lousy first trial.

Its happened to me too, what i did i just had to set GPS position, basically to be in good GPS coverage and WiFi, thats why maybe it worked without jumping to downloading again.
