Windows Phone 8 is the newest operating system with Blackberry-like security. It's even got a TPM.

I know that they're different devices, but it's interesting the Air Force would find over 100 security issues with the iPhone, and then buy thousands of iPads for the Electronic Flight Bag Program.

If anyone hasn't seen the 10 minute video the Air Force project manager did about the project, it's pretty cool:

It just depends on where you work. There is different levels of security through out the armed forces. One of my buddies isn't allowed corporate email on his iPhone because of security issues and he works on Aberdeen Proving Grounds so he got a blackberry...Android wasnt allowed either BTW, not sure about windows but I doubt it since he went blackberry....

My company is excluding w7 phones because the lack of updates from MS and is only certifying certain android phones (there's so many out there they're only touching the major makers).

Basically, my company is being very protective of its data and wants make sure phones are able to use the latest security features.

I wasn't part of the testing. I am just told that in testing, the security policy which enforces the need for an unlock code on the phone and/or the security policy for remote wipe failed to implement.

Users ability to install apps was not mentioned once.

And now I know, thanks. ^_^
