My phone and iPad Air 2 are both 64gb.

I would have gotten the 129gb SE if it was out at the time as I have a fairly large music and photo library.

While 64gb is good on my Air 2 as a complementary device, if I was to get a Pro it'd be with the aim of making it my primary machine - and for that I'd want the 512gb.

I'm coming from the 128GB iPad Pro 9.7 and never even came close to filling 64GB on it. I should be safe until the OLED version comes out.

For only $100 more, going to 256GB was a no brainer. I could get by with 64, but might as well increase resale value and be prepared for the future. Apps, movies, games, tv shows, music, all adds up.

I agree, for $100 you get 4x the storage space. It's worth the investment. I travel lots of time (work and family) so I download good amount of media from music, ebooks, audiobook and movies on both my iPhone and iPad. I'm getting a non-cellular iPP as well so the increase in storage helps me keep those data in the device and not worrying about network connection all the time.

I currently have a 128GB 12.9" and a 256GB 9.7" Pro. I use a lot of storage. I don't keep all of my photos on them, but I'll have photos from my last trip away (e.g. 6 week USA/Disney vacation), plus other photos. I'll also have around the next 10 or so episodes from TV shoes that I'm watching. I have lots of apps. I use the Microsoft apps for work, then also have Pages for my own use. I have training videos for work, comics and lots of games, particularly large adventure games. My current usage is suited to the 256GB that I have on the 9.7". I do struggle a bit more with the 12.9" and include less TV shows, say maybe 3-5, plus also less games, training videos, etc.
So with 256GB being suited to my current needs, I've decided to go all in for the 512GB to give myself even more freedom and hopefully use the iPad even more as my main machine at home.
The extra storage can then be used to store more TV shows while travelling, unload photos & video that I take on my iPhone to my iPad while travelling. Plus, now I'll be able to load more family videos in and edit the files to create videos to show people. I haven't done that before, so I'm interested in playing more with iMovie.
I miss the iPhoto app that we used to have on the iPad from Apple. I'd like to be able to do that again on the iPad too.

I would struggle to fill a 64GB iPad since I don't play games or edit movies/photos. Mine is mainly used for epub files, pdf's, notes and RDP.

Why must Apple always do this?

With my SE at the time it was 16 or 64.. 32 would have been great!!!
Now, it's 64 or 256! I'm sure 128 would be a great base size for the Pro!

Perhaps someone at Apple is watching our discussions and is simply responding to our love of debating the small details by giving us a good reason to get nit-picky about our usage habits ;)

I have 12.9 iPP 128GB and that 128GB is good enough for me. Used up 16GB for some apps. I put all of movies in my wireless portable hard drive. I think people with 256 or 512GB want for long term with iPP I guess.

I had a 64GB iPad Air 2 and it was more than enough. Today I'm making due with a 16GB iPad mini 4. I just don't put games on it.
