Wow, thats huge compared to other racing games posted. Can't wait to hear the reviews on this. :)

Just bought - will post up some thoughts once the huge thing downloads!!

I am not going to buy it yet, but this will for sure be the next racing game I buy. It looks like its really worth the $9.99 price tag.

Pretty dang good so far!! I have to play without sound right now as I am in class.

one complaint - ROTATE THE PHONE THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! I hate games with the volume control right where my finger is!! why can't developer get this right I mean it is EA they should have caught the fact that they need to rotate the screen the other way! it is Apple's fault also since the movies wont play the right way but come on!!

I was looking forward to this but then i learned it was an on the rails driving game does this effect the re-playability of the game? I mean do you feel like your been driven around the track and just steering the car? I don't really want to pay all that money and not feel like i actually have control of the car!

How does Need For Spped compare to other racing games such as Ferrari GT, Fastlane, and Fast And Furious: The Game?

Has anyone played this on firmware 3.0? I'm going to buy this game but I'll wait if it crashes on 3.0.

NO!!! Then your finger is all over the camera! I hate that even more! I guess it would be good, though, if there was a way to rotate it whichever way you want it. Then they could please everyone!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

think I'll miss this one out and wait for real racing or worms. The whole on the rails thing has really put me off.

Can someone describe the "on the rails" thing? Is it to keep you from driving into the wall all the time? The only description I've read is in the first post.

I ended up buying it. It crashes about 5 times on average before finally getting to the splash screen (running 3.0b4). Once it is up and running the only problem is that there are no sound effects. Music is fine but no sounds of crashing or screeching.

Still worth $10 though. Best racer in the app store so far.

Guess I never thought of taking a picture while playing a game! HAHa J/k so yeah I have one game that in the iphone settings for the game it lets you rotate the screen either way, that would be the best !! - I don't like how some games will just automatically rotate cause then when I move too fast or shake it as one of the controls it rotates the screen.

but once you rotate it the other way the volume rocker is actually right for up and left for down as indicated on the screen - it just makes too much sense!

Kinda sorta - when you get close to the walls you are already on the curb so you are slowed down - so you still need to steer to actually win but it doesn't let you hit the wall - just all the signs and boxes and garbage cans. I kinda don't like the rails thing but it makes the game much more playable - I have almost beat the game so I don't know if it is worth 10 bucks just for graphics - no multiplayer sucks!!

I think it's probably the best game in the app store as of right now. You can defiantly tell that the game "helps" you when you turn. But not enough to be a hindrance, actually its more of an add so you don't ram into oncoming traffic and its easier to drift the turns.

Cool! once you play all 24 races then you have a new icon on the menu next to the Race Map called "Drift Mode Events" (see picture) they are all drifting and I find it fun!! hopefully there is some more hidden stuff to find!

I went ahead and bought NFSU last night and it's without a doubt the best new racing app.

I think the best thing about it is that it proves the iPhone/iPod is probably the newest/best platform for games and gaming like this. I'm glad they took their time putting it out, and the price is right. (Just like all the other games) you have your iPhone (with iPod) and a gaming platform as good as any portable platform I've played on.

If you're hesititating to buy because you're not sure if it's any good. It is awesome to play, IMO.

i was going to wait to buy this until the price went down but i said what the heck and got it anyways and i don't have any regrets.

I bought this from the Japan iTunes store assuming it would have English as an option like the SimCity Japanese edition does. It doesn't appear to have English as an option anywhere. This is going to be a bit of trial and error figuring stuff out... I wish EA would make clear which games have multiple language options for their Japanese editions and which ones don't in their app descriptions...

Great game. Only thing missing is free roam mode, but then again, it is an iphone.

Anyone turned off by the price really shouldnt be. You would pay 20-40 bucks for a need for speed game on the PSP, but not $10 on an iphone? It is pretty much the same quality gaming for a lower price.
