After all the trouble, I can't recommend Apples reservation system for non locals. You can't predict how long it will take, and worse, you have to pick it up one day after the confirmation E-Mail :(

From my experience, just check availability in the nearest Best Buy store and go for it. Good Luck!

I'll be there for 16 days, so it won't be a problem - I'll have access to wifi at my villa (on my new iPhone 4, hopefully - but on PC too). It won't be a problem for me to respond when I get the email.

What I think I might do is get it when I get to Boston on NYC, if there are any available, but if not, I'll reserve one as soon as I arrive in Florida - which should give them 15 days to get me one.

Too bad you aren't coming through Heathrow in the UK. I was there last week and you could have all the 64gig iPad you want. Literally. The sales clerk at Dixon's said that most people wanted an iPad, but the less expensive ones so they went for the 16 and 32 gigs. I bought 2. 64 gigs.

I am going through Heathrow...

What's the price difference buying it tax free?

I can get the 32gb iPad for about £435 in the States after dollar conversion and state taxes. The 16gb is £429 in the UK alone.

678 pounds per piece. Sorry, don't have the Brit keyboard installed.

Forgot, I got mine in Terminal 5. Not sure where you are flying into but they had them in the Dixon's there.

yeah - just called them. The 32gb is still more expensive in the UK, even getting it from Dixons Tax Free (although, apparently they're not 'tax free' any more, just cheaper).
