Ah, well maybe that feature is exclusive to the nano then. I assumed that 1.0.3. would be the same on the nano and classic. But the 5G never had those options either, so maybe Apple just think it's not necessary on full size iPods.

It would be nice... I hate hearing the click over my car speakers.

I hope it fixes the bug where music randomly stops when you are playing through the docking port and starting playback using a remote control.

One of the main fixes was software compatibility when on a speaker dock.

There were issues that when the battery was fully charged the iPod sould pause and repeat this every 2 minutes. This has been fixed.

Also when on a dock (with playlist up/down and off buttons) these didin't work. These also now work.

Its a good update, coverflow will take a while to perfect as its trying to load hundreds if not thousands of album covers all at once.

One more working thing is that both my clickon FM transmitters do work again. The Belkin TuneFM works perfect again and a cheap chinese clone works partly, it only tunes up (unfortunatly that's the one with the best range and sound quality). On the older firmware both did not work. Seems that it has something to do with the software compatibility of the (speaker)dock system.
Since i use my iPod mainly stationary in the livingroom it would be nice to have a function that the backgroundlighting stays "on" while on external power AND turned "on". Now one can only time it or turn it "on". And when "on" it also stays "on" ALL the time, even when the iPod is turned "off"!

I just noticed that my FM transmitter works again too! So that had me wondering if the old video out cable for the 5G iPod video would now work with the Classic. I was looking at the headphone jack on my Classic, and saw that there was 3 contacts – 2 for stereo audio, one for composite video, perhaps? Can anyone prove/disprove this?

One thing really nice I have noticed is that my iPod will connect right away. Before, I thought I had a faulty cord or something because it would take forever to recognize that that it was connected to my mac. Sometimes it wouldn't ever connect. But, since the update, it is practically instant.

Something else I just noticed on my 3G nano (I assume the classic is the same) is the return of the 'Speaker' option while using an iPod Hi-Fi. It gives you options for the backlight (Always on, While playing & Off), and Tone control (Treble boost, normal & Bass boost. Unfortunately, there is no option for full screen album art, like there was with previous nanos and 5Gs.

I updated my 160 GB ipod to the new 1.0.3, but I seem to have a problem with my cover art. I just got my ipod (for Christmas, in fact) and I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem with theirs. It says that there's an error (-50) Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with the firmware or the actual ipod...

The weird thing is, the cover art shows when the "music" is highlighted (it changes on the side and all) but it won't show in the cover flow.
