The A11 will not debut until the next iPhone release this fall. iPads NEVER introduce a brand new SoC, just an hyper performance version of the existing silicon. That is reserved for iPhone every year.
They used to. iPad was the first with the A4 chip and iPad 2 was the first with the A5.

It's a faster A10 which was on par with an A9X

False, the A9X was a dual-core CPU and was really powerful but the A10 Fusion was Quad-core and getting benchmark scores on par with a 2015 MBP 13" while the A9X was just slightly above the 2016 MB 12". I hope the iPP 12.9" is given a A10X Fusion chip... that will be the biggest monster out there. The iPad needs a better optimized OS, but that chip will be true desktop class.

Good riddance headphone jack!

I switched to bluetooth awhile ago, now my wife and I use AirPods 100% of the time when on the go.

For my computer, I use a USB powered DAC/AMP with my HD800s. I have my old ER4S if I want "serious" listening on the go (which I don't really feel the need to do, anymore), but even that requires a DAC/AMP...so the headphone jack has been useless for awhile, for me.

Apple wants us to use bluetooth but don't support APTX or APTX HD.

I do not approof of what Apple is doing and I won't buy the iPad Pro 2 if I cannot use APTX with my B&W P7 Wireless headphones. Same also with the iPhone 8.

Keep losing that headphone jack, Apple!

It is a good way to keep people disgusted with your product.

I'm hoping Apple gets rid of it in this next update. I personally don't want any legacy ports lingering, so lets move everything to digital already.

Irrelevant to me. I have not, so far, used headphones with the ipad. Although I do have some earbuds with lightning connector, should this change.

Coming back to this wish-thread, nothing of the sort materialised yesterday of course. So much for the rumours.
