Why should that make you nervous? Shouldn't your firsthand experiences have a greater influence on how you feel?

I've never had any ill experiences with any of the Apple products that I've bought (at least not until a few years into ownership) and although I'm not interested in these new iPad Pros at all, but if I were, I'd have no worries.

Because the thing was so expensive and I’m unsure if AppleCare would cover it if it bent. I’m SO OCD that would be really hard for me to continue with one that is bent. But I see where you are coming from. They obviously didn’t bend themselves. The real question is for those that are bend, how much pressure really caused it? Was it pressure beyond normal use? I don’t know.

So got another new one. Wi-Fi only again for various reasons. This one appears perfect. Maybe the LTE models are more prone to bending?

I agree with you. I have the new 12.9” and of course I’m being more delicate than with other iPads I had (although it’s fustrating considering the build quality of old iPads). But what about when we put it in a backpack? It’s ridiculous to be scared about putting a tablet in a backpack when you travel. That’s what pisses me off the most in this whole situation.

Hmmmm....I throw mine in my backpack with the pencil attached and I travel all over the place. Haven't had any issues at all.

Not to mention that you really have to be mindful of the very small percentage of iPad owners who are represented in a place like this. MacRumors is a site for tech enthusiasts, and presumably primarily Apple enthusiasts (past and present) who generally expect a higher degree of quality in their products. So you’ve got essentially perfectionist geeks gathered in a big echo chamber...of course the negative is going to get amplified.

Don’t forget too that Apple tends to engender strangely hateful responses from those who don’t like their products, and so those people will troll Apple communities and amplify every little problem, real or perceived, into a “gate” type event. I’m not dismissing every or even most complaints as trolling, but I would advise that you not lend unwarranted authority to strangers in an Internet forum.

I have the 11” but I too throw mine in a backpack almost every day and take it to and from work or when I’m out and about, and I’ve never worried about it being bent. I don’t sit on my backpack or toss it around, but I’m not anymore careful with my 11 than I was with my 10.5, and I’m not worried about it at all. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be careful with your very expensive tablet, but it’s not something you should be preoccupied with either. Just use general care and common sense and you’ll be good to go.

I returned my iPad Pro 2018 12.9 LTE the other day due to yellowing on the landscape edges... however I've now been through 6 replacement devices as each has had dead or stuck pixels on the screen which as a designer, is far from ideal. I'm not even worried about slight bends in the casing anymore - I just want a screen with no dead pixels :(

Someone should make a foam padded, carbon fiber shell pouch-like piece that adds some rigidity for carrying the iPad 12.9 in a backpack or briefcase bag. I just traveled this week with my 12.9, and it survived inside a protective pouch within my bag, but I did worry, especially when I was jamming the bag under the seat in front of me on the various planes I was on.

I’m ocd too. Well, not really but I hate scratches or any flaws or imperfections at all. My iPad Pro 11” is perfect.

The new iPads are pretty tough, but any kind of rugged carry and the 11” fits snug inside one of these. Any iPad can get crushed, it doesn’t matter what model it is.

This is what you need! I bought one, you can throw it in a pond, stand on it, drop it, crush it, whatever you want. And it is safe!

So much common sense in this post that it should be bottled and sold.

I pulled the trigger on a new 12.9 a couple days ago with a pencil. It's awesome!!! But now it won't charge at all. Tried different outlets, turning the cord over, etc. Zip zilch zero, no charge. At 10% I turned off Find my iPad and erased it. I'll go exchange it because the prices at Best Buy right now are great.

Definitely exchange it. The 12.9" iPad w/pencil is awesome in every way. You will love it.
