interesting, last year, where macbook pro is engraved on the 15 inches, the space on top of the logo macbook pro, and below it was very little, it was a thin strip of Alu, on the new 15 inches ive seen yesterday, the place where it says macbook pro, is FAT!! its on a fat strip of Alu, there is a lot of space on top of the logo, as well as below, the 17 inches remain the same from last year, anyone notice this?:confused::apple:

what the hell does SR mean??? i DO have an intel mbp, does SR mean intel or something???

i did not say the size of the logos changed:eek:

SR = Santa Rosa = a code name for Intel's latest Centrino platform (which MBP technically does NOT have). The processors in the latest MBPs are caled Merom.

uh yeah, its been like that since the SR MBPs came out..

That's his point - that it's different on the newest mbp than it was on earlier mbps. (sr = Santa rosa, meaning the current generation of mbp)

my point was that its been posted on macrumors a long, long time ago. How long has the 3rd Gen or SR MBP been out? Almost a year if not a year, no?

It is also a reason why one can't convert a second gen MBP's screen to LED. the dimensions are different.

LOL Seriously man, you need a hobby!

Santa Rosa is a chipset not a processor by the way and all current laptops with Santa Rosa are using merom since penryn does not debut till early next year.

The reason the MBPs are not fully Santa Rosa is simply because they use a broadcom/atheros wi-fi card rather than intel's pro wireless card

So it is...

I suppose it's a good thing, because the screen is higher up, and the area above the screen no longer looks so disproportionate to the bits on the left and right.

Is it me or is the screen on the left slightly better looking than the screen on the right?

no, its a bad photo
the room is dark, and the camera is focused on a dark part, exposing the majority of the picture correctly
the laptop on the right has a brighter screen (its LED backlit, but may also be because its just set brighter) and the screen has been overexposed by the camera, making it appear whiter and therefore worse looking :)

In what way? If you mean in terms of contrast, I'm sure it is just because the one on the right is LED backlit, therefore much brighter. It would probably look better in real life.

Maybe he did long ago... ;) Just a joke!
I have 703 posts per thread. Does that mean I do not have any ideas?
