Sorry I just had to post another one because this thing is so freaking beautiful. Finally build quality & design to rival the iPhone. I'm so sold.

Won't have any type of removable storage I'm sure, but no deal breaker for me. 8gb of storage is tough...but it seems just too little. Would be utterly strange if they stick to that for the actual product. Hopefully it's just on the prototype.

Can't wait, honestly.

I really hope so. There's no way I'll get this if it's only got 8GB of storage.

I'm hoping that's just preproduction storage. Really, hoping lol But 16GB is plenty for me.

It would be an insane move to go with only 8GB so you're probably right. I like to have my music on my phone locally and that alone is 8.1GB. Other than that the next biggest thing is the nandroid backups I do and titanium backup files. I think I can make do with 16GB as long as it's not the same as the S3 where only like 11 or 12GB is user accessible.

I'm liking the design a lot. Factors for me to upgrade from GN:

Camera - I'm hoping the camera delivers. There was a report recently of leaked pics taken from the LG Nexus and they were pretty disappointing.

Storage size - I'm hoping the talks of how 8GB is just for testing is true. 8GB would be plain embarrassing at this point. I'm hoping for 16GB and 32GB out of the gate.

Price - Hope it comes in at a good price, but I don't see how they can price it any lower than what we've been seeing around lately ($500-600 range). Honestly, I love my GN and aside from the camera, I can live with it until either the price drops.

Everything else sounds and looks fantastic.

So I just left my local AT&T store. I'm so glad I went. I definitely solidified that I want android. Windows phone is too limiting for me.

Next I determined I don't want an HTC unless its a nexus. Sense really bothers me and launchers don't remove enough of sense for me.

Lastly I picked up some cheap random LG android phone. And surprisingly.....IT FELT GREAT! I actually had a resemblance to the rumored LG Nexus. Had the same shiny textured look like the new Nexus as well as the silver ring around the front. It felt solid and premium with a good weight to it. I liked the build quality a lot. Maybe even more than the One X. I like some weight in my devices. I just thought I would share because a lot of people are dissapointed in LG being picked for the Nexus and how it looks.

It really is a thing of beauty. As someone else mentioned, it does remind me of the BB Bold 9000.

Google is line to hit this out of the ballpark. Just have to have a few other things in place...

Like the rumors that it will only have 8 or 16 GB of onboard memory and no expandable memory? Hope it's not true because that'll be a deal breaker, at least for me. I also agree, very good looking, so close to being a great device...

Deal breaker for me as well. If no Micro slot, it needs to have 32 GB on board for me to buy it.

How does that look any different than the GNex that's out already?

But yeah I think this phone is going fail. Nothing really stands out about it, and then you add in the fact that most people hate LG. Don't see this doing well at all

I'm looking for 32GB out of the bat too. 16GB is too little, IMO, nowadays. 8GB would be a joke. THe only way I can see 8GB being true is if Google is offering that at an extremely affordable entry price.

Either way, I'm not convinced I'd upgrade right away (nor do I have the need to right away). Really hoping the camera is amazing first and foremost. Then we'll see.

Maybe there'll be a price drop early next year. That's when I may commit.

On the front, obviously not much. Which is a good thing imo, since I love the design of the GNex and was hoping they wouldn't stray too far from it with the next Nexus phone. And the addition of the metal (I hope) rim is tasteful and adds to the quality feel of the phone.

The back, which was horribly ugly on the GNex, looks completely different. Looks like a much more solid build quality, which is exactly where the GNex failed. All in all, looks wise, an updated version of the GNex with the changes in all the right places = best looking Android phone to date.

As for LG making them, as long as the phone is good I don't give crap about who's made it. It should be especially irrelevant with a Nexus product. Android Central just published a very good article on that particular issue btw: http://www.androidcentral.com/brand-loyalty-and-blind-hate

He makes a good point. I was also disappointed when I heard the next Nexus might be made my LG but I'm starting to like the phone and if the reviews are good and I like it when I see in store then screw it I'm getting one :p (as long as it's not 8GB internal only..)

very nice looking phone. I unlike many, actually like the pattern on the back.

But I won't be opting for this phone, just too many let downs, especially when there are phones that offer more for the same / better price.

- mediocre/less than mediocre camera
- limited storage
- 720p screen is good but why is the optimus G a 768?

I can't get a phone just for looks nor can I get one just cause it receives updates first when it is lacking in other areas.

Google is a software company...why are they being greedy and trying to maximise profits in the phone industry!!

Not trying to be an a$$ but how do you know how good the camera is? This is a pre production unit? Same for the storage? And does 768 vs 720 resolution make any difference? (Serious question to everyone)

Considering there are zero leaks of the Galaxy Nexus 2, Xperia Nexus, or any other Nexus device, is the "multiple" Nexus smartphone rumor dead?

Didn't a Googler also say "lol" to a majority of the recent Nexus-rumors too, that included Google opening up the Nexus program to all manufacturers?

I'm not upset by this. I've always been skeptical whether that's the route the Nexus line should take, as I think it might dilute the whole idea behind the Nexus.

I guess one can still make the case that the 5 Nexus device encapsulates the Nexus 7, Q, LG Nexus, the Nexus 10 and... I don't know. What would be the 5th thing?

Well looking at current 8MP shots by LG phones I can see that they are nowhere near as good as other 8MP lens out there.

And seeing as they have dumped some money into their new 13MP design/development I think its safe to say that the 8mp is the same as previous devices.

Here is the optimus G with a 13mp camera http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g-review-818p7.php

You might not be disappointed but it depends on your expectations. Many reviews mock the camera on older LG phones.

768 x 720, nope no difference to me....all it does is prove that Google is cutting even more corners, probably to maximise profits.

Nope not dead, well maybe....I thought Google went public with the, 'Anyone can produce a nexus phone as long as they meet the guidelines'.

About these guidelines, I wonder how much Google is charging manufacturers for producing nexus devices? I remember Sony turned them down last time round.

Yes an Android Engineer did comment on someones blog but that was regarding 4.2 features. I'll try find the link if you want.

Um no its just because the dimensions of the phone are wider

5:3 aspect ratio versus 16:9

.

Unfortunately, you may be right. They were dissapointed with battery life too.
