Cool! Think I'll get there for 9am. I'm going with a couple of friends who don't like Apple stuff as much as me. I'm hoping the Apple Store will help them see the light lol.

I'm not sure how many people will be there for opening. Hopefully not over 1,000 haha!

Don't hold your breath metatek. It didn't help my brother when he went to Jax with me. He just shrugs his shoulders. But when he is at my house he is constantly on it. ;)

It took me a good two years to figure out how to get to where I'm going in Chucktown. And frankly, I still have issues when I have to go someplace downtown.

I already have a list of the crap I'm planning to buy tomorrow. Plus an extra few dollars set aside for the crap I'm not planning to buy, but inevitably will.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day when Charleston gets an Apple Store...much less South Carolina.

Sorry I missed you, Rose. Chances are, we'll bump into each other at the Apple Store eventually.

But wow.

Apple Store.

King Street.

All that I hoped for and more.

I loved the store too Swift. It was amazing. The opening itself was fun. I met 2 people that I never would have known. I was hoping to meet up with you too. But I figured that I would be going there every 2 weeks anyway on paydays.;)
I also want to sign up for the one on one sessions. There is so much that I would love to learn about the mac. Also my daughter said that a worker mentioned that they are still hiring. That doesn't sound right. But I did talk to a training manager about working there. He said to just go on the website and apply.
I thought all of the workers were fantastic. Maybe this should be in another post. There is so much to tell. :D I got some pics with my iphone for prosterity. Channel 4 was filming down there this morning so watch the news.

Oh - I got a t-shirt. And I am so wearing it to my Microsoft Windows-dominated employer on Monday.

(I'm a graphic designer who, after searching for 6 months to find a job, actually accepted a position where I am required to use Windows XP...to do graphic design work. Have you ever tried opening Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Distiller, Email, and a couple of browser windows at the same time on XP? Oy.)

I know many of the employees there today were from the Atlanta stores. However, I am also kind of surprised they're still hiring.

The Post and Courier was also taking a few pictures. I saw their videographer and one of their photographers there. Apple certainly knows how to play the publicity game.

If gas were still a buck a gallon, I would've loved to camp out at the Charleston store. :)

There really weren't that many campers. Once they opened, they let everyone inside, except for the folks waiting to buy iPhones.

But it looks like they'll have iPhones tomorrow starting at noon.

I don't know if any early people in line got anything more than a t-shirt.

In other words, I don't think you missed much.

That sounds more like Clemson IT is acting as an Apple reseller for the Clemson campus. Still, it's absolutely wonderful that Apple is finally acknowledging the existence of South Carolina.

We got water and a cheerleading session from the employees. I got there around 6:45-6:50 am. Oh and 2 new friends. :) On the news (channel 4) they got my backside (green shirt) going into the store. :) that will go on dvd later...haha

The cheerleaders bothered me. It made me feel all queasy and uncomfortable. In addition to that, while in line, I was stuck between three psycho racists who insisted upon gratuitous use of the 'N' word. So I think I may be a bit jaded.

Then once we were inside, I was quickly reminded of how much I dislike crowds.

So, my experience wasn't exactly stellar.

But I did get my t-shirt. :)
