lol. huh? sorry to laugh but that is probably *not* going to happen. Maybe but I would be so amazed it would confound me. especially since there is no official spec even layed out for it yet. yes, a draft, but no final. h.264 was only adopted a few years after the final spec was released.

Sorry but no way this will probably happen imo.

I meant a new AppleTV might be released when Apple wants to support h.265, unless the current one can't handle it. Certainly not this year, since ATV3 was recently released. Can't think of anything else that would validate a new ATV.

Airplay Mirroring from Mac will fix that for the most part, though it's obviously easier having the media directly on the Apple TV.

I've found that using the Rowmote Pro app to control my Mac from in front of my TV is nearly as good and probably some ways better than having a jail broken ATV. The app can turn on AirPlay mirroring remotely so I don't have to run to the computer to set it up. Pretty cool really!

I have no interest in the Rowmote Pro app. In fact I had quit using it when I disconnected my old Mac mini from my tv. But now with the apple TV 3 and AirPlay mirroring, it's a great setup....just like having my new Mac mini connected to each of my TVs.

Exactly, with airplay mirroring it can essentially become a better media centre than a Mini is as you have the Apple TV interface and don't have to store anything.
