If anyone who has the new Taupe Classic Buckle happens to also own the Stone Leather Loop, I would greatly appeeciate some side-by-side pictures. I really like what I see of the Taupe, but hesitate to order because it may just be too similar to the Stone (which I own).

Best Buy was the only other store besides Apple selling the leather bands that I was able to find. If they've sold out, you may be out of luck. You could try eBay. I have seen them for sale there every once in a while.

Thanks, yes I'm currently trying to get a guy down from 200$ for one. All the same, it's not gonna kill me if I can't find one. If only I had been a few weeks earlier:) I went to check out the new ones and I wasent too impressed.

Answer to my own post: the Taupe Classic buckle is very beautiful and quite different in color from the Stone leather loop. Highly recommended.

The leather bands are a bit of a risk. I have the original black leather, and the 2nd gen saddle brown leather. I think these ones are 4th gen bands. The leather on the original black is like plastic, it doesn't even look like real leather because it's been so carefully machined and made.

But the biggest issue I find with Apple leather products in general is that they're not very long lasting or hard wearing. The leather is tearing on both of my bands and the Apple Store said Apple Watch bands don't actually come with a warranty so they couldn't give me a new one even though the product is clearly defective.

They do have some nice new colour options though.

Warranty or no warranty, in the UK you're protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If you feel that the bands are defective, take them back to Apple and quote the Consumer Rights Act to them.

They said I could do that but it probably wouldn't be worth my time, and that they would just argue it was how leather naturally wears.

They are talking out of their bottoms, all Apple accessories come with a standard 1 year warranty against defects etc.

You're right, there was a member here on the forums I believe had a problem with their saddle brown band and was able to return it for a replacement. Not sure how long it was after he had purchased.

It was a while ago, but I clearly dealt with some noobish member of staff. It's well over a year old at this point so they're not gonna replace this for toffee.

Always worth a try going in again and putting on the puppy dog eyes... I had a power cable replaced well after the warranty period and they didn't even do any checks

Leather does wear, of course. Have you worn your bands very regularly?

FWIW, everything I've read so far lead me to believe that the Apple leather bands hold up better, not worse, than other leather bands, precisely because they are so "processed". I can't judge that myself as I only occasionally wear a leather band and they all look like new, but I can say that the leather loops are more water resistant than any other leather band I've ever had.

I've had my Saddle Brown since September and wear it a lot (my Apple SS link has recently given it some serious competition but before that almost Monday to Friday) and it's still stunning - looks great and actually better than when new to me

It is the wrong thread, as you said, but I would guess that maybe in six months it will be possible. That's how long the original Nike bands were tied to buying a watch.

- That Taupe looks great. Quite a bit darker than it appears in Apple's pictures. What are your thoughts on that?

Just received my new Classic Buckle in Sapphire blue, very happy with it! :)
- I am with mine as well. Quite stunning.

Interesting! In this lighting at least, it looks rather similar to the older Sea Blue classic buckle.
- Those pictures do make it appear lighter than it is, I think.

In this thread and from this post and a few down the page are some of my pictures of the same band for comparison: #7753

In "normal" light, it looks maybe a tiny bit lighter than in this picture, but still relatively dark and warm. In sunlight, though, it takes on a much lighter, creamy color. It's a stunning band.

Ah, I see. In your pictures it looks quite similar to the bright blue leather loop (which is not very bright at all, either).

I don't get why Apple doesn't include black adapters for those people that have SB or SG models? It looks funky with silver adapters for black leather bands, only looks good for Stainless steel.
It seems to me that Apple intends the aluminum models to be used only with the sports bands. The leather bands with the silver hardware only fits the stainless steel model. Sports bands are fine when working out, but doesn't fit in other contexts. I ended up ordering a thirds party watch band that matches the hardware to the color of the watch.

- I wonder if I should get this or the Saddle Brown as my next Classic Buckle... Hm.
