Not made up, then how the hell do they gather the data from people? Flying monkeys or spy satellites?

They survey people.

Their own website claims that they talk to over a million people ever year.

It seems they start by asking their magazine subscribers but periodically go outside of that to talk to non-subscribers too. I see absolutely zero reason to suspect that they do all of that within a single city.

If you have some reason to think that, but all means, explain what it is. But at the moment it looks like you're just making up stories that have no basis in fact. Do you really think that ALL their magazines are sold to just one city?

So according to them I should have extremely bad service and not have any of my customer service issues resolved. That's funny cause I been with them even when it was Cingular and never had any major or frequent problems.

Consumer Reports is not as credible as they use to be anyways. You can go to Ripoffreport.com and see how many people bought products recommend by CR just to find out those products are garbage.

I'm sorry, but what? Your point is that CR isn't accurate because you made up some "facts?"

Why stop there? If we're just going to lie about them then surely we can do even better than that. Hey, I bet CR only interviews rapists! Clearly rapists are trying to make AT&T look bad, so we shouldn't trust these numbers!

I mean, isn't that even more convincing than your imaginary "1000 people from the same city" argument?

Most intelligent responses I've seen this morning. It makes me laugh when I see people spin facts out of thin air. Good lookin' out!

I used to work for one of the companies listed in this CR article. I worked at their headquarters in their customer service division, where I frequently attended meetings with the senior VP in charge of customer care (the woman who reported directly to the CEO). The consumer reports ranking was our main report card, not just because it's the industry standard but because it's objective and accurately formed. There are overall reports like this, and there were regional reports which were more important for the guys who ran the network.

AT&T is in last because AT&T earned their last place position. It will take a long time to turn that around, too.
