Beats are among the most useless headphones on the market. They are overpriced and are more about appearance than functionality. The same amount of money could be spent to buy headphones by other brands that actually care about accurate sound and sound quality.

Tim Cook is an idiot for purchasing Beats. When it comes to innovation, Cook is even worse than Gil Amelio. At least when Amelio made the then-largest purchase in Apple's history, he bought NeXT. If you're reading this post on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, then you're using NeXT's OS software to read it. Clueless Cook made an even larger purchase, which took the title for the biggest purchase in Apple's history, by buying Beats. Is it clear now how utterly useless that man is to customers?

I've been waiting for these too. I've kinda given up hope and think they see the Beats Fit Pro as that product unfortunately.
I have yet to try them. I might get them when I am close to an Apple Store later in the month. I'll need to investigate the noise cancellation, but that might not be a deal breaker when they connect so easily and have pass through.

1. I think you’ll find it was a sound investment. Cook might be a lot of things, but he’s not an idiot. They have a revenue of $1.5B per year! Bought it for $3B in 2014. You do the math.
2. I love my Powerbeats Pro, so they are less useless than comments about it being useless. No other in ear phones have fit as well. Ever.
3. Personally, I can’t hear high tones well, and when I am working out I prefer to hear bass and mid tones.
4.They have excellent connectivity and voice calls are perfect.

But to say money could be spent on something better is pretty dumb when you compare anything in the fashion world.

I’m on my second pair because I have ‘those’ ears. But I just tried a workout with my wife’s new AirPods Pro 2, and whilst they stay in (surprisingly) I think I’ll stick to my Powerbeats Pro. I wish they’d do a noise cancelling version for people with goofy ears.

Hopefully an Apple Employee will drop around and let us know when.
I have "those" ears too. None of the current lineup of Airpods work for me, as they slip out as soon as I do anything remotely energetic!

However, I tried a friend's Beats Fit Pro, and they do they stay put, so ended up getting my own pair. The only time they fall out is when I'm getting changed and they catch on clothing.

I keep forgetting that Beats exist. It’s odd because Apple doesn’t have any other hardware subsidiaries. Imagine if they produced a series of Beats branded phones. Essentially less expensive phones that ran a custom branded version of iOS, and hardware that still had a headphone port and such.

That's what it looks like on the surface.

But Beats are there in large part there for Apple to be able to scale up production and thereby lower prices of key hardware components that go into both AirPods and Beats and other smaller consumer electronics and accessories that Apple sells.

Beats also allows Apple to sell more audio products for consumers who don't have the means to buy AirPods, or those who are on the fence about spending several hundreds of dollars of wireless headphones.

Beats is hundreds of millions in sales but achieved without devaluing the premium brand identity that Apple has built for AirPods.

Tech savvy consumers will understand how low quality and little value Beats offer and avoid them.

But mainstream consumers just want something that's almost AirPods but at a much lower price. That's where Beats excel.

Like, iPhones SE are also really low value and a terrible product compared to mid-tier and Pro iPhones. But Apple can't resist those XL profit margins you get from reselling old iPhone hardware with a few, conservative spec bumps.

Tim Cook is here for the money and absolutely knows what he's doing!

If it were 2012 these so-called tech savvy people may think that. But Beats have been excellent since the Solo 2 in 2014, and I’d think these same people would have the ability to use Google and know what sites actually have proper audiophile reviews to trust instead of regurgitating something they heard over a decade ago.

Why does lossless audio still require a wire?

Lossless audio requires 1.4 mbit, bluetooth 3.0 and higher support 24 mbit…

I swear we live in a simulation… just now I was rediscovering my Solo 3s, which had been sitting in my bedside drawer. Then I looked up the story for the 4’s from a few weeks ago and low-and-behold, there was an updated one from yesterday. Amazing!

These are some of my favorites since they have a warm AirPods like sound with more clarity and bass. It’s just that I rarely use them because they hurt after a while; I hope they’ve managed to improve on that aspect. I also hate having to use a micro USB cable for them and look forward to USB-C.

I think this is a 12 year outdated opinion. Even Tyll from Innerfidelity (now retired) loved the sound of the Solo 2 and 3’s.

Powerbeats are the best headphones on the market for serious gym sessions, long runs and even quality. Everything else really is trash, unfortunately.

Beats is a profitable subsidy for Apple, which is why they haven’t killed the hardware line of products. You clearly are unaware of why Apple purchased Beats: for their Music Streaming. Apple Music is built on Beats Music.

WTF? Why won't apple allow us to use audiograms on any headphones? Or at least on any Apple and Beats headphones?? Why is it possible on the Beats Solo Pro but not on the Beats Solo 4 or even the higher priced Beats Studio Pro? Why is Apple holding back this feature?

It might have something to do with the H/W chips. I notice Beats Studio Pro are not on that list. And that would answer the other question about any headphones too.

Also, the Beats Solo4 haven’t been announced yet, so who knows?

It's just Apples greed that they limit this feature. I have been using it as soon as it was available for free with my Sony headphones. Unfortunately Apple seemed to have bought the patent a while ago so the free app disappeared from the App Store. Now it's baked into the iOS but it's limited to these special chips. I don't see why I can't use any headphones when it worked with all headphones before just fine. Greed. That's the reason.

This is like glasses for your ears. Everybody should be able to use it regardless of the headphones.

Just bought Beats Solo 4 on a good deal 😁

I was looking for a fairly good on-ear headphones. I won't even use them to play a lot of music, more as nightly or early mornings meditations headphones. I do have a few different AirPods, but I'm tired of only finding 1 at times and/or only one charged etc.

I think they will serve me and its purpose.

How do you find the exterior (passive) noise isolation? Is it good? Or do you wish it had ANC?

Haven't even got them yet, so I can't answer any questions. They will arrive tomorrow.
But I assume that it won't bother me at all to not have any ANC for the purpose I bought these.

I watched belov video - it might answer any of your questions.
