Cydia BEWARE!! :) LOL
This is actually already available through installer then utilities I believe.
This thing is 'smoking fast,' and other than for maybe building a couple additional features (recent packages, download package queue, etc.) and cleaning up a few bugs (packages which require mobile substrate don't download as ICY can't find mobilesubstrate) I think this is going to send Saurik 'back to the drawing board' on Cydia.

Good for competition...The consumer will always end up getting a better product.

Cydia is still my favorite....I don't mind different products but I don't see a reason for them to release a installer alternative(cydia) alternative....just improve installer lol...

+1 ^^^ I like ICY a bunch; and yes it is lightening fast as described...

Too bad after I downloaded my phone keeps freezing :) in and out of the app ;3 but it seems promising though, its good that it keeps all our sources and apps, and we don't have to like reinstall everything....+1. But no cydia store :(

Edit: Ok -1...I take my +1 back since this app keeps on freezing on crashing, I might as well uninstall it >_> What more do we expect from RipDev? AND STOP OPENING MAIL GOD DAMM*T!

So this works exactly like Cydia? And someone mentioned that all your added sources carry over onto this "Icy" app?

Yeah but the app is super buggy, always freezes and in the categories where all the apps are for you to download :) there is nothing there! It's actually pretty much a deadweight program.

I'd be wary of ANYTHING made by RiPDev. Literally nothing good has come from those guys but buggy software/apps that either don't function properly or cause you to restore. I'll stick to Cydia.

Cydia is not 32mb. Most of what is installed is the unix subsystem that many apps rely on.

Remember back in the 1.x days? The first thing you needed to download from Installer.app (the good one) were the unix tools to make everything else work. Well, Cydia made it easier and included those.

But yes, Cydia is really slow and needs to be fixed.

wow, so installer actually works now? i haven't even bothered to launch that app in the longest time because nothing in it worked after 2.0 was released. i agree that cydia is insanely slow. may wait a bit on the ICY source, but could be a good repository in the future.

There is very little incentive to be competing against Cydia, so the fact that RIPDev is trying to come up with yet another crapware can only mean one thing. When are they going to reveal their true intent, which is to "scam" $$$ for half ass crapwares.

Hmmm icy, is it worth it.... Heck NO!

Welli decided to add the ripdev source on cydia, just to test out icy, yes it's a bit faster no crashes at all but it's still crappy, it's from ripdev. Common people how many of you guys/gals use installer???? Cydia is great. I give myself a +1 because Cydia is the only way to go and screw ripdev. Don't waste your time on installer!!!!:D
