Thanks alot guys. I'll go with the canon, it sounds more "future safe" - if you know what i mean.
That wasn't my thought when buying my first DSLR. I chose based on reviews, and overall feel and comfort with the camera. If I was going to spend some change on a DSLR that could potentially ignite a new hobby, I'd get something that I am really happy with...but that is just me..haha.
