Hey, i hope it's ok to use this thread.
I have a 2009 4,1 8-core 2.26 GHz with a HD4870
Want to upgrade my graphic card. I have a GTX 680 in my PC and thought i put it in my mac.
Nvidia Web driver installed, card not flashed, but still no signal. What could i do to run this card? Maybe powercable?
The GTX 680 has a 6PIN and a 8PIN, mac only 2x6PIN. It's a Gigabyte GTX 680 4GB. Is it possible to run this card or should i buy another one? If a new one, which one? (Used for video editing and regular stuff)
Sry for my bad english
EDIT:
OS is Yosemite 10.10.5

You need a mini 6-pin to 6-pin and a mini 6-pin to 8-pin. You can find them here: Mini 6-Pin to 6-Pin Mini 6-Pin to 8-Pin

Adding to what devon807 has already stated... The GTX 680 runs fine with the built-in drivers of OS X. Running the Nvidia web drivers are entirely optional.

The absolute cheapest option is a used GTX570. However a used GTX680 will be within your budget & has similar performance but can be easily flashed by you to give an Apple boot screen & will run quieter & cooler plus run up to four monitors.
[doublepost=1455535937][/doublepost]Hi Guys, I went with this card in the end
PALIT GEFORCE GTX 570 graphics card 1.28GB GDDR5 DX11 SLI PHYSX CUDA 3D
It works like a dream, no more noise when watching a vid now I saved some money and am now thinking of adding more memory at the moment I have 8gb in 4 2gb I am looking at possibly doubling it.

Thanks to all who helped me.

1. Unflashed cards usually show 1 fewer Mb, so should say 2047 or 4095

2. If card says 2047, it's a 2Gb or got flashed with wrong rom. Look at part number. EVGA and some others code the size into the part number
