I've been checking apple and hermes sites daily to see if the 42 single tour bands would come back in stock. All colors have been "Sold Out" for some time.

Today on Hermes (only) I found this Gray which I hadn't seen earlier, or seen announced:

http://usa.hermes.com/watches/apple...mm/band-apple-watch-simple-tour-42-98805.html

Very tempted but I think I'm going to hold off.

For those in the "those bands are a rip off why would you waste your money blah blah blah" camp please don't post here kthxbye.

I love my Hermès single tour band. I tried the Apple leather band and while it's nice you really do get what you pay for.

And holy smokes - it's gone this morning! Wow. I guess I'm not the only one watching!

As of this morning the tan "Barenia" single tour 42 is back on the Hermes site as well.

My wrists are fairly small for a guy my size, always have been. On the Sport bands, using the S/M band, I use the middle of the 7 holes. In the Hermes band, which came today, I use the very smallest of the 6 or 7 holes and fortunately that fits me perfectly.

EDIT: Here are the pix. I will say that it's quite beautiful if very subtle. Worth the price? Mmmmmmm almost certainly not. But it really is beautiful to the eye and to the touch.

It's pictured here with the Apple Leather Loop and and after market sport band. It's reasonably thick but definitely not at all chunky. More elegant than anything else.

Darn it! I use one smaller hole than you...which means that Hermes is too big for my tiny wrist! :(

Thank you so much for confirming my concern regarding size.

Sorry to hear it! You could always have a proper jeweler or, depending on where you live, Hermes, punch an additional hole for you.

That's an option. IF i were to do that (same spacing one extra hole), then does the excess band extend ABOVE the watch or looks ridiculous (if you can imagine it for me)?

There is a Hermes store in my city.

No need to imagine, here are some pix :) I think it would be fine though beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course! I also checked that the band continues to fit through the hardware even though it begins to widen out at about the spot where an additional hole would go.

The other thing is, with an Hermes in your city, you could always go try it on in the store and pull it through as needed (assuming they carry the bands...I gather not all Hermes locations do) to see how it looks in the flesh.

Wow...plenty of room for extra hole(s)!! I called local Hermes a while back...they have nothing regarding Apple Watch...but will check again.

Thank you again for your help!!!

No prob! It's possible btw that if you tell the staff at Hermes you're extremely serious about purchasing but need to see it in person that they'll arrange to have one sent to the store for you to see. They're insane about customer service, though in fairness that's usually related to selling $12000 suitcases.

EDIT - also, they do have a return policy on the website, though it has to be returned in new condition so no hole punching; but at least you could see it in hand

How's your gray "etain" Hermés band holding up? I'm getting the sapphire blue one delivered and am curious about how they wear over time. Thanks in advance!

Tbh I hardly ever wear it as I consider it a dressier/special occasion sort of item. That said, with minimal use it's held up great though that's probably not very helpful! If you're really curious I'm sure there's an older Hermes edition thread with buyers of the watch originally. They probably have good experience with how the bands hold up over time.

I love the sapphire blue and would love to see pix when you get it!

Look on eBay for used Hermes Watch...there are a few of them lately...you can see the wear and tear on them.
eBay is a good suggestion, but they have a lot of used AWs with the fauve and black straps. I'm interested in how the colored straps age in particular

Never thought I would be interested in a $300 watch band but that does look great!

Not a big fan of most of the Apple ones.

Just hoping the iwatch 2 will be slightly thinner in thickness.

I actually have a leather band! After looking at one in the Apple store, I actually decided not to buy the official one - quality wise, it's nowhere near worth £129. Bought one for £30 on Amazon - and to be honest, I think it's better than the official one.. :/

Which one did you get on Amazon?
