You can always get Classic Buckle if you want something a lot cheaper (and much lesser quality). :D
I think the CB is a great strap. Sure, the leather may not be as top grade, but it's still pretty damn good compared to other offerings I've seen. I have a second gen SBCB and a blue jay, and absolutely love both.

If this wasn't $300, I'd be all over it!
The price tag definitely was an issue for me at first, as I've was debating getting a Hermés for months. Finally I just decided that I wanted a really nice strap, and knowing I wear my watch everyday it would be a good investment. I've had mine since launch, and love how a different band can change up the whole look.

My wrists are fairly small for a guy my size, always have been. On the Sport bands, using the S/M band, I use the middle of the 7 holes. In the Hermes band, which came today, I use the very smallest of the 6 or 7 holes and fortunately that fits me perfectly.

EDIT: Here are the pix. I will say that it's quite beautiful if very subtle. Worth the price? Mmmmmmm almost certainly not. But it really is beautiful to the eye and to the touch.

It's pictured here with the Apple Leather Loop and and after market sport band. It's reasonably thick but definitely not at all chunky. More elegant than anything else.

It's funny, ever since seeing your Hermés gray pics, that color strap has REALLY grown on me. I've been checking back for it everyday

I hear you. When I was looking, it was in and out day to day but hasn't been there in a while. I wonder if it was a limited thing until the new watches come out? Be interesting to see how easy they are to find starting with the pre-order tomorrow.

I hear you! I flipped when I saw apple is selling the gray strap with white stitching separately, might have to pick that up! I'm hoping it will become available tomorrow

I pre-ordered the 38mm single tour in red for the Mrs. Delivery set for 9/30.

I checked Hermes.com and they now list the series 2 as well. In the Bands section though it seems things are pretty constrained for the time being. I wish you could set an alert to get an email every time a new one is available as I'd like to get my wife a white band but don't want to check 2X/day.

Good choice! I was looking at that color, it's like a lighter red, right? Really nice...
I ordered the 42 single tour in fauve, and I also got the gray strap. Apple says delivery should be on the 30th for the watch and sooner for the band. I'm stoked about that orange strap:)

Nicely done! It's funny about the orange strap - I like it so much that if I decide to get SS over ceramic for the series 2 I think I'll spring for the Hermes for myself :)

Have to see the ceramic in person though first for sure. I have way too much invested in straps to buy a watch that won't work with them, especially the nicer/more expensive ones which are the ones I think most likely to clash.

Another idea I have is to keep my existing SS and use it exclusively with my Hermes band as my dress watch (since waterproofing and GPS are two features I don't need in a dress watch!), and buy the ceramic to wear as my every day/workout watch. I'm betting it's going to look awesome with the sport bands. We'll see. I'd hate to lose the $xxx I could get selling my existing watch but...if I absolutely love the ceramic I may do it.

I have WAY too much invested in bands as well, and that definately influenced my choice when I preordered. I love the Hermés watch, and I already have the regular stainless which looks pretty much the same so I debated getting the gold sport instead. same as you said, I don't want to get a watch that won't match all my bands! That ceramic looks amazing. I'd love to see it up close, and I think it would look awesome with sport bands, nylon, and leather loop. Anything without a steel adapter, pretty much

Wife's 38mm Hermes shipped, due 9/27.

I did check out the ceramic and did not care for it. The way the screen glass meets the body is totally different than all other models. There's a little 'step' or bezel of ceramic before the glass. Made it look and feel cheap rather than premium IMO. I put some pix of it another thread I started in the main Watch forum. Too bad because I was leaning that way.

That's good you checked it out. I've seen a lot of mixed reaction towards the ceramic edition. Some people love it and think it's looks great with all sorts of bands while others, like you said, think it looks cheap. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I ended up getting the gold/coffee nylon band series 2 as well as a Hermes. I'll be lucky if I get them by early October though, I had such a hard time deciding. I'm going to try and get by a store sometime this weekend to see the ceramic in person.

Resurrecting this older thread. Did anyone ever get a 42mm Hermes band and punch another hole in it? I need to smaller size down to about 150-155mm and wouldn't want it to look weird with the buckle offset or be uncomfortable. I love the orange leather band.

Take it to Hermes if you live near a mall with one in it, they'll do it for you and make it look professional

What about putting a hole between two already made holes? Do you think they can do that?
