I have to say that i am pretty dissappointed in the general attitute of people on this site to the original post i had made. I have no axe to grind and since it is generally a rumour passed on from a genuine friend i'm surprised by the rather dry response and in some cases childish jibes.

This was only my second post on the site and will most probably be my last. I was under the impression it was all Mac owners united but i guess not on this site.

Hopefully this one post won't sour your taste for this site, but just in general most rumor posts are usually met negatively such as this, users here have seen them come and go a dime a dozen ever day, sometimes they are trolls, sometimes they are genuine posts. I hope you stay on and please do not think that everyone is childish. Aside from that, Your information is fascinating though, it's hard to see how it could be utilized in an iMac while still maintaining profits for both companies without raising prices and it also brings into question Sony's motives with this, but still a possibility that may come to fruition sometime in the future we'll have to wait and see.

You're paying for the sins of others, my friend. Lots of people jump on the board, spew a nonsensical rumor, and are never heard from again. Stick around, and once your rumor becomes fact, you'll be a hero, and even if it doesn't, you'll be given credit for trying.

Good Rumor

I like it. Sony (more than anybody else) needs Blueray to succeed, which means they need to get it out there best they can. This doesn't mean Mac Pro - it means consumer desktops and laptops that sell a bunch. Sound familiar? I would not be surprised at all to find a Blueray in the next iMac...

First of all, if your grammar was a little better, people might possibly take your claim at face value. As it is, you might also have a doctor friend in South Africa that died and asked you to give away his estate to random folks with email addresses.

Secondly, if you expected everyone to get whipped up in a froth of excitement over a fairly outrageous claim, you're more of a zealot than 90% of the folks on this site which is saying quite a bit.

Blu-ray is overrated

Another source of mine who works as a mathematician in CalTech let me in on a little secret. He made me swear on my grave not to reveal that bit of trade secret out but I figured that something like this is worth a lot more than my grave, so here goes...

The new iMacs will contain a half of an atom, the other half is located in a secret department within Apple's HQ. Using the very latest advances in quantum computing, Apple will then be able to syncronise with that half atom you have got and transmit ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION video to your iMac in real time... without the need for an internet connection.

This cutting edge technology will also be incorporated into iPhone 2.0 due out in MWSF next year. Imagine being stranded in the middle of the Sahara desert. With no satelite overhead and no civilization in sight, all you have to do is pull out your iPhone™ and let the the barriers of space and time be transcended by a higher dimension...

Apple is also in secret negotiations to with NASA on developing this technology further for the space shuttle program. No more of that 5 minute round trip time communications delay, being able to communicate with your loved ones anywhere in the universe... only made possible through Apple
